We have threads for unidentified cars, unknown tracks, but not one for unidentified people.
I spend many a happy hour browsing the REVS Digital Library (a recommended pastime) and often recognise a face bit can't remember the name.
I have posted a few from F1 in the 1970s in the hope that someone can jog my brain cells, and maybe prompt others to utilise this thread.

Do you think the last pair would have got a job at Ron Dennis' McLaren.

Don't know. I guessed from the smile, but It was a guess.

Ghedini is not a guess. That is definitely him.

The Goodyear man might be Paul Lauritzen. There's a Sutton pic from 1979 in the Haynes Lotus 79 book, of "head of Goodyear F1" labelled as him - it's a rear three-quarter view (!) but in the same jacket and with the same shoulder length fair hair, curling at the collar.

Good find Tony.

A Google search brought up a number of Getty images with 'Paul Lauritzen' labelled.

This thread is an excellent idea.  We need to see some of the faces of the men that made it all happen.

A few more for the weekend...

 UqiE5M.jpg
6. Cliff Allison & Olivier Gendebien at the 1959 Targa Florio, but who is in the middle?

 ngIYKP.jpg
7. 1965 Riverside. Jim Clark (Left), Jim Hall (right) & Bruce McLaren (in the cap), but who is the fourth driver (not Graham Hill :smoking:)?

 lZJn6y.jpg
8. Dennis Perkins & Cyril Atkins at the Ring in 1967 but the 3rd BRM mechanic between them?

 WvLC4K.jpg
9. Who is talking with John Surtees at the 1962 Brussels GP. Must be a Brit to wear a duffle coat

 pdCCGQ.jpg
10. Jerry Titus & Lothar Motschenbacher at the 1969 Mont Tremblant Can-Am. I thought that it was Leo Mehl on the left, but not sure.

Thanks in advance
Rob

My first ever post on the forum. I know who this is do you? A clue he works in F1. Tim Murray may recognise him. Date is December 1986 and he is helping to assemble the chassis of my 750 Formula car.

Regards

Dave

Gordon Bennett! Dave, is that you? The last time I remember seeing you is 1984 - I think sometime after that you moved from Bristol to the Southampton area?

I think I know who the welder is. The last time I saw him was at the Castle Combe Autumn Classic a couple of years ago, when he was much in demand by expat racing colleagues in Italy to bring back English cider for them on his travels. He currently Haas a leading role in F1.

Rob, in photo #7 the man standing between Clark and Hall is Richard Macon.  Richard was driving his personally entered McLaren that day.  This was near the end of his racing career as the money behind his effort was rapidly running out.  He remained very proud of the fact he had once raced on the same track as the great Jim Clark.

There was a Richard Macon thread here several years ago with more details.
