A friend is working hard on creating Tasman car mods for the PC game/sim Grand Prix Legends. The plan is to create a complete as possible grid of cars and tracks.

 

For 1966 & 1967 there are a few missing entries for the NZ races. Trying to find any (preferably colour) photo reference for these is proving to be very difficult. Any pictures/information would help painting these cars to complete the grid. All three drivers raced in the four Tasman Cup NZ races in the respective years (Pukekohe, Levin, Wigram and Teretonga).

Ray Thackwell Brabham BT2 #20 (raced with #3 at Teretonga?)

 

1967

John Weston Brabham BT2 #36 (Thackwell's car from 1966)

Grahame Harvey Brabham BT6 #16

Levin in 1966. Thackwell's Brabham is the black and red car on the far side of the grid. Mostly obscured but it will give you some idea of the colour scheme.

We have one other picture of Thackwell, on the grid at Teretonga on Sergent web site ( https://www.sergent....tor/tas66t.html ).  Here he used car #3.  Maybe a different car?  Not according to OldRacingCars.com.

 

Still looking for pictures of Weston and G.Harvey and further pictures of Thackwell.  Good pictures of NZ Tasman Cup races is harder to find than the AUS races unfortunately.

The Roaring Season is a great source.  I do trawl through it every so often.  Not spotted any of our needed driver/cars.  If anybody spots one I have missed please shout....thanks.
