Sour grapes from Kvyat, and poor team spirit overall. What he should have done is to place emphasis on his own (very good!) drive in that race, instead of putting down Albon, who was in a new team and new car mid-season, which is difficult even within the RB organization.
WOW! Alexander Albon has been promoted to Red Bull Racing to drive alongside Max [edited]

not a classy comment from Kvyat but I am sure he knows it doesn't help in anyway make his situation better. As long as he can deliver good results, he's got a chance to continue his career.

Kvyat spoke his mind but he should show some respect.

In the end Albon had a good result and made some passes in the end but for the majority of the race he looked pretty lost abd unremarkable, even compared to Gasly.

It was Albion’s first race with minimal running. He did ok
Albon is saying all the right things, ie “first stint was bad and he needs to understand why etc etc”.

Indeed. Maybe something along the lines of "Albon had a great race and showed a lot of speed at times; it was tough keeping him behind me for the first part of the race" would have been much more sensible to say.
This shows a lot more class and respect while also bigging himself up.

Tbh I watched Albon's race onboard on F1TV and his driving wasn't so impressive yet. He did lots of small mistakes along the way. Even he admitted it on the radio at the end.

Did they inject the grapes with Lime Kyvat?
Completely classless

He showed some class with his passes, in my opinion it’s too early to rate him as an impressive drive.

He's not wrong

Kvyat maybe shouldn't have said that, but his drive was every bit as good as Albon's IMO. Underrated by most.

It was Albon with spec 4, or?ffs Daniil, play it cool!
(Spec 4 vs Spec 2 btw)!
Please, let's not rewrite history and pretend Albon's drive was poor. It was a solid performance. I've already seen some things on other parts of the internet suddenly agreeing with Kvyat - it's not like we all watched the same race !! The Kvyat fandom sympathy train continues ...
Forget that. Just remembered. They took for the penalty. But used spec 2 to save spec 4!

Poor team spirit? Different team or did you forget?.
He has a point, the drive has been talked up beyond what it actually was, which was a decent but unspectacular start which netted a decent result, but only just sneaking 6th then inheriting 5th from a retirement is not exactly giving Max a hard time on performance is it? Kvyat I would say did better this race given relative equipment and start position.

He started from the back in his first race for a new team. Yeah, he was relly expected to give Max a hard time.Ffs

I don't think the RB team were expecting much performance on full fuel and harder tyres. Didn't he say in a post race interview that Christian Horner said to him on the grid not to worry, and that the car would come to life in the second half of the race?

yeah, and only halfway through his first season, too, promoted into a team because the previous driver had been ruthlessly chopped for poor performance. Given the hand he got played I think he performed very well indeed.

Before I find the comment.Kvyat did have a similar drive in a NOT winning RB, Spa 2015. From the back to the front. In a car that lacked lots of top speed.

Thats not what I meant at all. He did well but there has been some hyperbole about the drive.

I guess it's understandable that Kvyat feels there is too much hype around Albon when Daniil himself is doing a fine job. But there are ways of expressing it. Like "He did well out there on Sunday, really pleased for Red Bull. I think me and Pierre did really well in the Toro Rossos too so it's all great for the team"
Press and fans will always be interested in the new kid in a top team, there is intrigue there.
