Catalina Park did those cars feature McLaren parts or were physically made at McLaren

The 1981 Marlboro MP4, for instance...
Was that car called 'Marlboro' just like Lotuses were 'John Player Special'?

I always wondered why there were no more major sponsors that demanded the teams to be renamed, just like pro cycling has done for ages, e.g. JPS, Marlboro, Vodafone, et cetera.
The only examples that come close to this model are Benetton (Toleman) and Red Bull (Jaguar née Stewart), but they, of course are/were full owners of said teams.

The McBegg used a lot of McLaren parts and drawings, Bruce gave George Begg the bits as a going away present. It was built in NZ.Catalina Park did those cars feature McLaren parts or were physically made at McLaren

Leyton House and Spyker too
But I think these came together with change of ownership, like also Footwork, Jaguar, Toro Rosso, Honda, "Lotus" (Genii), Virgin, Caterham, Renault, Mercedes...

The 1981 Marlboro MP4, for instance...
You mean all the cars that were called McLarens but built at Project Four Racing?

Catalina Park I am looking for cars that were manufactured at the McLaren Factory by people that worked there for their own use, I have tried to reword the Topic but I cannot find how to do it?

uechtel I am looking for cars that were made by employees at the McLaren factory for their own use.

Yes, indeed, but in the case of Leyton House it was similar to Benetton in the sense that a former sponsor takes ownership of a team and renames it according to its brand. Spyker, meanwhile, I see it as in the same mould as Red Bull - buying an existent team and giving it a new name (of the buyer). Which of course also applies to the ones you mention in the quoted post.

Thanks, uechtel, nexfast!
My thoughts were along the lines of, more recently, Sir Dave Brailsford's cycling team changing its identity from Sky to Ineos, or, more of an extreme example, Dutchman Jan Raas founding the Kwantum–Decosol–Yoko team in 1984, that had 8 different identities, including Rabobank (1996-2012), and that is now Jumbo–Visma. And in the mean time, they've always been in contention for stage and race wins.
And now, back on topic.

I don't know where the Cuda JR3 was built. Jimmy Stone worked for McLaren for a few years.
The Cuda JR3 and the two Formula Fords that preceded it were built in NZ. The first time I saw the car race it was powered by a 1300cc engine!

Sorry, Roger, it was 1964 of course...
But the same applies, Bruce was still a Works driver and it seems to me that it would be unlikely that he'd go away from the Cooper factory to build that car.
The McLaren team built the Cooper-Oldsmobile, didn't they?

These days in the BTCC the cars are known by their sponsors rather than their makes, although in most cases there is very little of each car that relates to it's supposed manufacturer.
