Fans at the track have been told to leave...

Oh no... That can't be good

The survival cell of Hubert's car seems to be largely intact, it gets covered by a part of the barrier cover as it moves to the left side of the track

This is true but there had to be some forces involved for his back end to snap off.

I don't see much damage to the barrier at all. That's not why the race was abandoned.

Hubert’s cockpit shroud was on the track.

Oh of course, for the car to essentially snap in half means it was a massive impact

There is trackside footage. It is Zanardi-esque.

It wasn't Hubert's rear end that snapped off, it was his front end.

The G force for Hubert's crash, must be around 20G at least and I'm being conservative.

oh my goodness Hubert first hit the barrier head on and was then hit at full speed by Correa in the side where the cockpit was already damaged, would be a mirracle if he survives this

Just seen a fan video.

From what I can see Hubert hit the wall in the right on the exit and bounced back onto the racing line where he was collected at full speed.

It wasn't Hubert's rear end that snapped off, it was his front end.

That looked worst to me, from the original live feed the front of huberts car didn't seem too damaged which meant the energy must have gone more to where the driver was...

I guess safety is so far advanced nowadays that you hope you never have to see the 1970's again, from when I started watching, now in 2019.

I hope for good news but feel pretty glum about it.

Hubert's initial impact on his own was big enough. Agree with others who say it's likely his survival cell was weakened. Correa collects him at some speed.

Correa moving but makes you wonder about a Monger situation.

The fact Correa still had enough energy to end up upside down tells you how hard he hit Hubert.

Does explain how the glimpse we initially saw of one car losing it the going out of shot became a huge pile up on the next camera angle... they essentially collected another car rebounding out from the barrier who'd had an off further ahead. Hopefully no serious injuries, but never good to see feet exposed or nothing but the safety cell left. The coming together was almost reminiscent of Zanardi's Lausitzring crash.

Monger's was more than a sudden stop tho, here the car dissipated some energy.

I'm so worried about Hubert

That's very worrying. I'm beginning to wonder about the marshalls/debris spread.

Alesi spun, Hubert lost it evading and Corea tried to evade Alesi, but collected the rebounding Hubert from the wall.

We know something bad has happened. The cancellations confirm that. Just not how bad it is.

Hubert get's hit twice on the same side... I don't think the monocoque can handle two of these impacts...

Fingers crossed.

The impact was well outside white lines.
