As quickly as the paddock departs a sombre Spa, we arrive at Monza. Where better to reflect and renew competitive spirit and passions ...

Shrieking engines echoing through the forest, the soundtrack. Blink-and-you'll-miss-it flashes of sponsorfied liveries, the pictures. 163.78mph of drag-shedding, record-breaking speed, the intrigue.

" Tempio della Velocità "

Can Ferrari win at Monza for the first time since 2010?

Will Mercedes spoil their party again?

How will Alex Albon fare in his first uninterrupted weekend?

Are McLaren able to bounce back from their Belgian no-score?

Is the average speed lap record going to be broken again?

Welcome to (the build-up) Round 14 of the 2019 FIA Formula One World Championship

Wet race? As ever with F1 and its weather forecasts, I will believe it when I see it.

I’m going. Yes it will be wet. I can’t bloody wait!

Having said that I’ve heard that a wet GP at Monza is like the Somme. Anyone been?

Also again having said that the weather has been all over the place the last few days..

All bets are offf but I think Hamilton will win from 3rd as I can’t see Ferrari to play the rear gunner again..

Based on these weather forecasts, I better block my calendar from 14 until about 20, as things might get red flagged/delayed now and then... :o

It´s only wednesday though. Don´t be surprised if we have a bone dry race. Would be very interesting to have Max coming from the back in a wet race though. (although it obviously can be over in lap 1 already... :))

If a Ferrari must win, I prefer he does it.

I like how the official map shows 11 corners but from my PlayStation  simulator experience there are only 6 braking events and 2 of them are dabs not events.

Mercedes
Spec 3 from Spa

Ferrari
Spec 3 brand new

Red Bull
Albon - Spec 4 from Spa (not yet raced)
Verstappen - Spec 4 brand new grid penalty confirmed

McLaren
Sainz - Spec 3 from Spa (not yet raced)
Norris - Spec 3 brand new? Grid penalty?

Toro Rosso
Kvyat - Spec 4 from Spa
Gasly - Spec 4 brand new grid penalty confirmed

Renault
Spec 3 from Spa (not yet raced)

Racing Point
New Spec 3 again? Grid penalty?

Alfa Romeo
Kimi - Old Spec 2 (thanks tigerkimi 🐯🇫🇮)
Giovinazzi - Spec 3 from Spa

Haas
Spec 3 from Spa

Williams
Russell - Spec 3 from Spa
Kubica - Spec 3 brand new after blow up?

Prost is very small in the top right. Alonso is with the steering in his hands and the helmet.

Redbull win paying $21, hard not to try that!
I see they're still talking of a wet Friday practice but Sunday now morning rain clearing.
Probably change it to 60mm rain afternoon downpour by tomorrow

I always find the start at Monza a bit nerve-wracking to watch. I hope no-one tries to win the race (or make up for a poor start) in the first corner.

I like, but I'm have difficulty spotting Chris Amon, of whom Forghieri said, "as far as I'm concerned, he was as good as Clark."

Beat me to it with Prost. But I will note that both Prost and Surtees are tiny. And both, of course, departed Modena in bad blood!

Can't spot Ginther or Gurney either. And their first American World Champion is pretty invisible, too.

Oh, and can't see either Peter Collins or Luigi Musso.

If it rains in the morning as much as forecast, there is no way that the track will be dry for the race. It will be very damp given the cold temperature.

Current forecast (Norwegian) says 18mm of rain during 02-08 am, after dry and temperatures will be +22C at highest (so not excatly cold), there are also othe classes driving, so it will dry.

Vettel dominating in a Toro Rosso.

Seems amazing that that was 11 years ago now.

But seriously, if there is 50mm+ of rain there will be no race.

While the works cars are scheduled to take the new engine in Spa, Alfa Romeo boss Fred Vasseur told Motorsport.com that there are no plans for Kimi Raikkonen to upgrade for the Italian manufacturer's home race.

Let’s hope for rain before the start. Intermediate tyre start or even damp with a risky dry tyre start.

I always find a full wet Monza Robs is of a fast race but a full dry Monza can be a bit boring.

That’s why I likes the old hockenheim fast and unique.

Isn't it 49 years today since we lost Jochen?

I love Monza, always did. I love a pure power track! is this also going to be the last chance Ferrari have for another win this season?
