Seb might have been safe by a hair there.

No crofty he definitely went off
Crofty is one of the worst commentators ever, so not surprised he doesn't see it. Doesn't see a lot of things...stewards should be consistent and delete Sebs time

Bottas going to get a tow now?
#708
Posted 07 September 2019 - 14:06
Ok, track limits are a farce, well done Masi.
VET seemed to have a tire on the line based on the FOM replay so it should be fine...

It's not F1 Qualifying if we don't have at least 1 controversy

It was on the line
All 4 wheels very clearly over.

Guys you are making too much of a fuss over Seb's lap... common! It was obviously on the limit (a matter of mm) and he didn't gain anything really.

Surely Vettel was all 4 wheels off then? Looked like it in the slow mo.

All 4 wheels very clearly over.
nah
he is slightly touching it with the outside walls.
Its marginal, but its still in
Bottas' lap counting is more questionable, he clearly passed the line after the red flag was out.

Bottas going to get a tow now?
He got one first but the games at the start messed it up a bit for him.
Someone's second run is gonna get ruined here and will be miss a great battle

I would give Seb the benefit of the doubt there. It's so close.
#721

Track limits are track limits dammit! No matter if it's one meter or 1 mm.

I don't think they announce investigations for laptimes...

Rules are rules one would think. Try to apply this reasoning in tennis when a ball is marginally out.Guys you are making too much of a fuss over Seb's lap... common! It was obviously on the limit (a matter of mm) and he didn't gain anything really.

(Vettel was slower than Hamilton S1)
But HAM also lost 2 tenths in S3... so they both have time to gain. I suspect pole may be 19.0-19.1

He was just short of the line so would have been very harsh as he barely had time to react. But yeah, I guess strictly accordingly to the letter of the law he might have been lucky to keep the time

But those sports are based solely around boundaries, points, etc. Formula 1 isn't.

Oh, this is going to be a mess, and someone's lap is going to be ruined.
#732
Posted 07 September 2019 - 14:11
All 4 wheels very clearly over.
I thought that at first as well, but with the only two views that were provided by the broadcast, it looked to me like he always had one wheel touching the line or at least so close it's difficult to say conclusively.

how long are they waiting lmao
#734
Posted 07 September 2019 - 14:11
(Vettel was slower than Hamilton S1)
it should be noted that Seb being at the front had no tow. I think he dropped over a tenth to Leclerc is S1 alone because of that, which would have put him on a very similar time
