Damn frightening.  I am personally not ready to lose Brian Redman.

James Redman has requested help from anyone who might have the means.  Perhaps somebody here knows somebody who knows somebody...

This is something I'm going to actively worry about until it's resolved.

I have forwarded this to everyone I know who might be in a position to help.

I can't imagine why they stayed there in the path of Dorian. Having been in literally dozens of hurricanes myself this was not one to be taken lightly, and Brian has been in south Florida long enough to respect these storms.

Here's hoping for the best.

Oh Man, I adore Brian and sure hope the best for them.

I haven't seen much footage in the aftermath but just enough that this really worries me.

Thank You for letting us know, Dave. I do have a racing buddy in Jupiter and will let him know.

First class guy, I hope they get out soon.

I saw him win the 1000 km race at Francorchamps in 1970 and he signed his autobiography for me a couple of years ago.

They are OK and just waiting to get out according to Autoweek. This article explains why they took the decision to be on the Bahamas.

Reportedly safely back home now - thank goodness.  Just the nicest couple.  Perhaps, next year, Torquay?

Given where they live I suspect they're more at risk the other 50 weeks of the year, Doug...   If you mean living in Blighty, I'd agree.  About the only risk of living where you suggest is being hit by a sapling being used to administer a damn good thrashing... :rotfl:

That is a great relief! Let's hope it's not the only good-news story that emerges from the wreckage of this colossal tragedy.

If you can spare a penny - and a thought - please consider contributing to one of the Bahamas Hurricane relief appeals - such as this:

They might get trampled by the majestic herds of wildebeest.  :|

As with the Paralympian you supported -- and then some here because of it -- class move, Doug.
