I'm sure the crews would love that But in all seriousness, the early end to the calendar is my only frustration with the series as it stands. I know absence makes the heart grow fonder and all, but I love the series so much as it is!

Indycar definitely needs that winter flyaway series they were talking about a couple of years ago.

He is a nice lad, i had the opportunity to interact with him quite a bit during IndyCar's visits to Toronto while he was still driving for Sarah Fisher. On one occasion we chatted for a good hour - the autograph session was organized inside the paddock, with the drivers sitting at a desk in front of the teams' tent / garage area, and with Josef being just in his 2nd or 3rd year i was pretty much only one there, everyone else queuing up at the Penskes, Andtettis, Ganassis and such.
Nowadays him being a Penske driver and a series champion it's much harder to get hold of him, but that's perfectly normal and to be expected.
Yeah totally agree, I quite literally bumped into him at the IMS museum in May and had a few minutes to chat before other people recognised him and the TV crew turned up

I can't seem to locate it amongst 18 pages of one line replies, but to whoever it was that mentioned something along the lines of "not much lagoon left", it was truly a dry lake bed (hence, Laguna Seca), that would only collect water after serious rains. I recall a Competition Press & Autoweek from the late-1960s that had fun with the normally "dry and dusty" turning into a muddy quagmire during a rainy weekend.
It has only become a true faux "lake" after it became a county park and a permanent portion was created.
Can't have a park with a water feature that isn't there

The lake bed still fills when it rains. There is more drainage since becoming a park but that part still holds water from time to time.

The news here is not the clubbing together, which even WE could probably manage, after a few fits and starts, and eventually produce a suitably sizeable kitty. (rghojai, please insert appropriate illustration here.)
Sizable kitty
is deigning to acknowledge
your sad existence

Acknowledgement, of
any caliber, leaves me
suitably humbled.

Finally caught up after my holiday. Great race, thoroughly enjoyed it. Newgarden deserved the championship in the end as he's been so measured all season long (a couple of brainfades aside). Good to see Simon wasn't giving up until right at the end. Andretti just never really had the speed so Rossi never really looked like challenging the Penskes which was a shame.
Sad that the season is over, happy that it was such a good one. Congrats to Dolph on his fantasy win - 2nd podium in three years for me. Next year will be my year! </davidcoulthard>
Glad you all enjoyed the race. Have this picture of a DeLorean making its way around the old F1 track at Montjuich Park as a sorry for me not being here.

Nah, yours are good, as were most others.
I especially liked the Bond villain company name remark.

It suddenly occurs to me that U.S. Concrete sounds like a natural successor to a company like the Genco Olive Oil Company. Not to further a tired ethnic stereotype . . .

A wasted opportunity - Had he reached 88 MPH, he needn't have been driving round the OLD track at all.
