40mins until lights out, a Ferrari front row lockout but will they convert it into a 1-2? Also no one has won the Japanese Grand Prix from the second row so not a good omen for the Mercedes drivers.
When David Croft gives out his omens, the opposite usually happens. He's got a habit of doing it.

Here we go again! after 4 hours. Not too bad of an idea to have qualy and race on the same day..

With my Ferrari cap on, I hope it continues.

The Japanese GP winner ended up winning the title every year since 2012.
Reminder that Mercedes needs to outscore Ferrari by 14 points to seal the WCC, and Hamilton is not allowed to be outscored by more than 3 (Leclerc) and 6 points (Verstappen) or DNF while Vettel wins in order to eliminate all non-Mercedes from the WDC. If he isnt outscored by more than 3 points from Bottas he has it in his own hands to seal the title in Mexico (assuming Mercedes is quick enough). Should he DNF and Bottas wins it's impossible to win the title already in Mexico.
As for the race: only factor that could spoil for Ferrari is tyre deg. The fact that the especially in the race trim slower Mercedes is right behind them should be a help. I expect Mercedes to try to undercut with Bottas if they are close enough and Hamilton will go long, assuming they have a gap to Red Bull. Ferrari saved a soft set but I'm not sure in what scenario it can be realistically used, since it seems doubtful that they can build a gap to use it ahead of the Red Bulls. Probably only a option in a late VSC, or if they are on the backfoot (unlikely). Or they try the Spa stategy again. Verstappen on the other hand can totally risk a S-M-S.

Sky has mentioned the 2nd row = no win stat way too often in the last few hours, they are almost asking for Mercedes to prove them wrong.

If they want a chance of winning, they better not. If they get away in grid order, I reckon we'll see Leclerc's race sacrificed.

Where is Brundle? Two races on the trot hes been missing from the Sky lineup
I recall him saying in the past he is contracted (by his choice) for a maximum of 18 races so he can skip a few to avoid travelling

So will Vettel and Leclerc switch sides or will Vettel chop.

Marko alluded to a two stop for Max. Expecting Bottas to let Ferrari get away and Mercedes to leave Lewis out, dropping him to P5.
Considering how close Albon is might be P6 this time

It's gonna be processional and totally forgettable race, similar to Paul Ricard. Hopefully I've jinxed it now.

Bottas jumping Leclerc at the start might actually be a good thing for Leclerc - he might get the undercut or go on a 2 stop stratgey which I think is the best option for Ferrari. Either way its going to be a fun to see what Ferrari do if they lead 1 -2 after the first lap. Point is Ferrari front row is far more exicting than a Merc front row.
