Leclerc is becoming the new Lewis even more now.

The stewards are clearly protecting him. :rotfl:

When has Hamilton been protected?

The whole DRS outage seemed like a covert "let's try F1 without DRS just to see what happens" decision. But maybe I'm paranoid. It's just strange & "convenient" it happened on the last race of the season when the stakes were not high. Still, it wrecked Vettel's race (after Ferrari's botched pitstop through him out behind Hulkenberg & Bottas).

And how it miraculously started working again when the top 3 teams bunched up behind a Renault and got stuck there for a few laps.

How do you know it deserve a bigger penalty ? If you have source for your claim I would like to see it.

Because others have received bigger penalties from same incidents or "cheats". But no I have no other sources other thsn what so called experts say.

Does the FIA specify a specific penalty for such a breach? As far as we know, no.

Is there any indication that Ferrari did use more than the allowed fuel mass during the race? Again, no.

Does the FIA give the impression that their rules seem to be over-complicated and sometimes un-policeable? Hell, YES!

Give Ferrari a $5000 fine. That will teach them a lesson!

Boy was I wrong...

Boy was I wrong...

Indeed. You were 10 x wrong but at the same time 100% right.

All the Hamilton fans complaining of Ferrari getting away with murder would not be saying this if he was driving for Ferrari, it’ll be very amusing what will happen come 2021  :p   ;)

Oh dear. Danny Ric gets Dq'd from a quali session for a micro-second breach of PU limits, yet a fairly large discrepancy which could have a lasting effect on performance receives a small financial penalty... Go figure.

Unless there is something that says differently they were not over the max fuel allowance, so technically there was no performance advantage.

Not sure about the Ferrari rule breach. The stewards quoted 12.1.1.i of International Sporting Code.

Isn't that "12.1.1.i   Failure to follow the instructions of the relevant officials for the safe and orderly conduct of the Event."

Am I looking at the right document or are they just trying to find something in the ISC to hang this onto?

As for the facts of the case what I want to know is: do the stewards have any evidence that the 4.88 kg's of fuel is somehow finding its way into the engine in a way that improves performance and controvines the rules? If they don't then the fine is a slap on the wrist for an error in the team's paperwork, a penalty in line with such a minor error.

Race served only one purpose (other than our annual reminder that shiney moneys rules F1 however bad the race it provides).. and that is to show that DRS is a complete boondoggle and the racing is demonstrably better by simply disabling it.

Just don't ask Max Verstappen that.

This race needs to be gone from the calender, or at the very least not be the final race. What a dull way to cap off what has been a great second half, ending in Brazil would have been awesome.

Thanks to the DRS issue we confirmed how boring F1 is without it due to the lack of overtaking, and how boring it is with it with drivers steaming past.

2021 can't come soon enough.

Says everyone in 2008, and in 2016. Don't get your hopes high my friend. F1 has been dull the last 10 years.
