Ferrari continually surprise me by managing to have one of the lousiest liveries every year. Let's paint it red and slap sponsor logos on it with no design what so ever. Love Ferrari but hate their liveries.
I thought they were going back to an old colour of red?

Have to agree, another lazy and boring livery. Seems all the rage and trend this year...

Yeah, their liveries were on a steady decline for a good while now. There doesn't seem to be any effort made to try and make it look good, just random logos everywhere and nothing more. But I personally find Ferrari branding to be pretty tacky in general, not just in F1. Not much of that famous Italian style and elegance.

Not hate. Criticism.
Some of it is justified in my opinion.
The livery is boring and the presentation was shockingly bad.
The car however looks to be a well polished article. Whether they’ve polished a turd or not remains to be seen.

I think it’s need more white like their tabacco days.. at least it’s not toooo bad.
It is. Sorry.

i personally don't mind the simple Ferrari livery, it's the ones where they have gone a bit nuts with white and black in random places (i.e. 2016) that look awful
the only change i would make is to make the front and rear wings black
did we get confirmation that the red is darker? Looks the same to me

The only changes to the liverie back from the 2000s up to today is the varying amount of white (the Marlboro and Santander white marks). Since forever, the only real thing we could comment on the Ferrari liveries is "oh is the red a tone darker or lighter?".
Would really want them to experiment a bit.

That's a terrible livery design mock up

Less white, or none at all. Black wings. Less black on the body.

It's a testing livery and only a render at that.
Rumour is a major new sponsor is coming onboard that might require a white background for their logo...

Test livery, I guess, but I'd love for this to be their actual livery.

Well thank god Haas put some white and red in their livery.

I'm getting pretty hacked off with these testing liveries and rumors of liveries on previous cars to hide development, it's ridiculous.
Quite frankly they should just have an FIA mandated event the day before testing where the whole grid is revealed team by team in a reasonable time length (10 teams, so 6 minutes per team for an hour show) tv event. They can even pose for the yearly 'Grid of ____ ' photo in their race suits or formal suits.
It's even more absurd that the FIA award show isn't televised. When was the last time we saw our drivers champion with the WDC on TV? Liberty need to sharpen up.

That one is sick . We will never see anything like that though. Current liveries (of all teams) are crap.

Update: seen more pics from Garys article and it’s not white black I thought from twitter but orange blue like the stripes on the shark fin and under the rear cover... eye roll.. makes even less sense now it’s small on the car but significant on the overalls and why sooo much blue on overalls and so little on the car.

Man now McLaren dropped the ball as well. Plus, why the white black strippingon the race uniform left leg and predominantly blue... what is going on with these teams and their looks. Geez.
I may be misremembering but I’m certain mclaren were saying they were going to do something spectacular and groundbreaking with the livery this year...
Love it or hate it, BAR/Honda are the only team to ever really produce ‘groundbreaking’ liveries.... that 1999 pick’n’mix livery, and the ‘earth car’ which would probably go down quite well these days... yet was a bit of a laughing stock at the time.

[BAR] that 1999 pick’n’mix livery
I still dislike the reason we had that half and half livery. BAR were supposed to run two rather classy but different liveries for each driver. But because it was Craig Pollock and Jacques Villeneuve, Max and Bernie introduced the rule that teams had to run the same livery on both cars just to spite them.
We'd be better off if teams could run different liveries for each car. Not just because it would make driver identification easier. It would allow teams to cater to individual sponsors better, and also potentially attract more sponsors by having lower rates for better exposure on a single car.

There has always been nice ones it’s just teams now seem to be stuck and doing redundant stuff.. and even worse is making stuff worse after decent starts ie McLaren, RedBull and Mercedes. Ron Denis McLaren rest papaya was nice with the grey, orange and blue could be done well but everyone just done plain boring crap. Ferrari are fortunate enough with red but even they can’t make a good red one anymore.

No way, I disagree turning F1 into NASCAR... the team should be all the same.
How is that turning F1 into NASCAR? I just think teams should be less constrained by a rule that was brought in to spite competitors who were not in favour with those in power at the time. There's no reason to have that rule.

Individual cars vs TEAM CARS..
Plus, of all that F1 has to improve, I do not see this even in the top 20.. plus, not as if there are a tonne of sponsors where it even make sense Like BAR tried with Tobacco. I guess RedBull could colour 2 different soda cans on their cars but oiii.. what a mess that would be.
Fixing tracks designs being near the top of the list so some iconic corners are hard again.
We'll see if 2021 really addressing the ability of cars to follow closer and reduce the passing delta.
Cars with crazy amounts of vortex generators.
Drivers being to corporate and loving one another.
Top 2 teams spending 2-3x more then the bottom team.
List goes on..

F1 is just about the only series that has that stupid rule, and it has nothing to do with “individual cars vs. Team cars”. NASCAR has multiple car teams. So does Indycar, WEC, BTCC, SuperGT, Super Formula, Aussie Supercars, etc, etc, etc. The point is that there isn’t a ton of sponsors because they have to pay a lot more for exposure on two cars. If you could get bigger exposure on a single car than a small sticker on two it might be more attractive. Also BAR was one sponsor (BAT) advertising two brands. Alpha Tauri would be an example of another Red Bull brand that could be advertised.
Maybe it isn’t a big problem in the grand scheme of F1, but that doesn’t mean it has any justification of being there. Maybe it might not even be used much, but there may be teams willing to take advantage of being allowed that freedom. Last year Williams might have been able to have a predominately Orlen livery car for Kubica for example.

Well said PAYR. Absolutely correct. A pointless Bernie rule that should have been binned even as they kicked his sorry arse out of the door. There were plenty of multiple liveries in F1 in the past and the world didn't end.
