The fact that Willy's version of events is accepted unquestioningly is a problem as you get later into the documentary.  When he picks on David Hobbs, at least Hobbs is still around to defend himself, and interviewed in the documentary.   When he suggests that NASCAR rewarded Robert Yates with a NASCAR team (in 1988) for helping to deep-six his foray into NASCAR with DiGard (in 1986), well, that's thinking an awful lot of yourself.  And is presented as innuendo, with absolutely no other evidence whatsoever.  

 

I haven't read Hobbo; does Hobbs have anything to say about his days in Trans-Am with Ribbs?

 

RS, I haven't read Hobbo either, so I can't comment. But, that would be interesting to see.
