I have written a biography of Louis Coatalen which will be available in a few months. The publisher has asked for suggestions of publications that should receive the press release to herald its arrival. While I feel fairly confident in doing this for the UK (The Automobile, Octane etc.) I have very little knowledge of relevant  magazines in the USA. Could US TNFers suggest which publications might be interested in a book mainly about motor racing history and one of the key fiigures in the early part of the century? Or is everything now just on-line and if so where (apart from TNF) ?

Good luck with your book Oliver. There are many smaller magazines being published now which must have international readership such as Magneto (I started a thread about this on the forum).

ps I sent you a message through this page about the Sunbeam Tiger/Tigress!

This sounds like another addition to the “must-have” list to sit beside Oliver’s father’s great work on Sunbeam Racing Cars.

It is a corker. The depth of Oliver's research shows on every page. A fascinating and thoroughly well-rounded biography.

I received a copy this morning.

Trust me - because I just don't say such things often - but after a couple of hours early study I would confirm that this is - in my opinion - a very fine piece of work on many levels.

The text demonstrates a tremendous depth of research and understanding.  It's light of touch, engaging, entertaining and interesting to read while the photographic content borders on the sublime.  Some very rare and fascinating photos here.

Add to this really high production standards and attractive graphic design - and, well, what's not to admire?  From my entirely independent, unengaged, point of view - a really fine job. Well done to all concerned; a particularly high-class book for enthusiasts by a great enthusiast. (Usual disclaimers - I have never even met the author    :) )
