Read my posts back. I've never stated wins or championships should qualify for wearing a tribute helmet.
As said; I'm with DeKnyff on the side where I think Gasly is not the right person to pay tribute to Senna. And certainly Liberty should reconsider the fact that drivers meaninglessly can pay tribute to anyone despite not meaning anything to the sport.
And I, for one, am of the opinion that Gasly never saw him race live. And certainly never paid tribute to him before. In contrary to Hamilton, who idolized him since childhood.
If anyone is "entitled" to pay tribute, it's him in my humble pie opinion. Not someone who conveniently tries to steal the limelight by appearing with a Senna tribute helmet out of the blue. And then I left aside the fact that Gasly has never publicly spoken about Senna as being his idol.

Didn’t Norris recently sport a helmet tribute to Valentino Rossi?

I understand Senna’s helmet design is more iconic, but Rossi is a legend himself, while Norris was just a rookie.

How exactly does it work? Is it because Ayrton is dead? Is it because his helmet is more iconic and cannot be touched?

Did anyone complain about Alesi’s helmet at the time? Or Vergne puigg no a tribute to him?

Heck, maybe even Ralf Schumacher should not have used his wdc brothers helmet design.

I agree that It’s a little bit weird that somebody like Gasly does it, especially in Imola. But still, I struggle to see what’s the big problem here. In the end there’s none, i think it will be quickly forgotten.

Hamilton really kept changing his helmet year by year, even when he was younger.

Have to say I much prefer his pre-f1 helmets even though heavily inspired by Senna I think they look much nicer than the cluttered mess of the modern day ones.

Presumably the white halo was added in 2003 when he signed for McLaren?

It shows the general decline in helmet livery design.

Vettel's lid this weekend. Not sure if this is a subtle reaction to the announcement of a Saudi GP next year...

Good idea with the flag, but all these cartoon people of different shades/shapes looks like computer game avatars from the '80s. I feel like diversity aspectcould have been highlighted in more sofisticated way.

Turkey has had its own issues with diversity...

It looks absolutely horrible, when you compare it to his original clean design.

Just as bad as the one from Turkey.

Is he gonna stick with the white design next year with Aston Martin? Or will the white become green? or is he gonna switch designs after every win like he did in the RB days?

Maybe switch back to his karting design...

It’s a shame he had to ‘Redbull’ his helmet; the one he’s got now could have become pretty iconic if he’d used it right the way through.

I read somewhere they are in the range of EUR 3500-4500 a piece.

Small change then when you’re earning tens of millions per year. Whereas Aitkins helmet looks like it’s seen action quite a few times before!

I don't understand very well his choice of cars on the helmet: if he had space for only nine cars, I would have expected de nine WCC-winning Williams cars. There are two cars which won the WCC and not the WDC (FW11 of 1986 and FW16 of 1994), but there is not a FW07C of 1981 in the same situation, whereas there is a FW08 of 1982, which won the WDC but not the WCC.

Actually I didn't look at the years that closely. But indeed, odd choice made. Sharp eye you got

It's much nicer than his normal helmet though. I like national flag helmets.
