The date is 1955 in England. The car is noted as an Arnott - Coventry Climax.
I do not know of an Arnott like this? Does anyone please know the make of car?

I'm fairly sure there are pics of this car at Revs?
I've seen it somewhere.

Could it be a Turner A30?

Reminiscent of Sparrowe's MG coupe.

What a wonderful collection of unlikely racing cars! It was a five lap handicap; winner was Tommy Sopwith in an Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire.

Apparently Sparrowe in “our” car, hit the chicane head on and removed two sections of it and most of the front of the car. He set of a fire extinguisher which “playfully” sprayed the crowd (Autosport).

.....and I was correct with post #5. I've only previously seem images of the car in a dark colour.

The DVLA lists RLJ 814 as an MG with 1098cc engine, white body and was first registered in May 1955 and is still taxed.

Well, TNF brings home the goods again. Thank you.
A big thank you to Rupert and nicanary.
I now have to make up my mind if the car has a manufactures fibreglass body or a modified manufactures fibreglass body or a homemade fibreglass body?

It is interesting to see what we can identify, using the race programme and Robert Barker’s Reord of Motor Racing at Goodwood.
the cars were lined up and released according to their handicap. On scratch was Walters’ DB2/4 which we can see at the back of the grid. There is a discrepancy between the programme and Barker over the handicap of Sopwith”s Armstrong Siddeley. The programme says he was on scratch; Barker that he had 40” starts. We can see him on the row in front of the Aston so I think Robert is right.
Bell’s Minor (2’10”) has just left the grid. The limit men, Nelson Graham’s A30 and Goodearl’s Renault 750 (2’20”) have already gone. Next to leave will be Ahby’s Wolseley 6/80 (1’55”) then Cuff Miller’s Anglia (1’45”). Sparrowe and Larminie’s MG are on 1’25”. Behind Sparrowe is Jacobs’ Alvis and, partly hidden by the Wolseley, Keen’s Jowett (both 1’20”).
there is then a group of cars on 1’15”: Zervudachi’s Simca (number 77), Wheeter’s big Ford, and the MGs of Hickman, Clarke and Foster. The Riley behind and to the right of the Ford should be Gerald Gelberg (40”), I think there is an Allard (1’05”) and Clay’s Healey (55”)
There is a car immediately behind the Ford that I can’t identify, and Gillet’s towering Mark 7 Jaguar (40”).. There a small car next to the Aston which by process of elimination is probably Dick Steed’s Porsche (1’05” in the programme, 15” in Barker).
I think that’s it, but any additions or corrections would be welcome.
Graham’s A30 led for the first four laps but dropped to fourth on the last. Tommy Sopwith won; he won two other races that day in a Cooper T39, apparently the first Bobtail seen in private hands. Another five lap handicap was won by a youngster named Innes Ireland in a Riley Brooklands.
