Long live the Mexico City e-Prix!
An enormous success, on & off the track.

See ya next season!   :smoking:  :smoking:

Peraltada Stands, Evans victory

Looks like a great vantage point to watch them from that. I'm jealous of the people there!

Didn't even know this was a thing in FE:

I suppose it doesn't really come into play on tracks with only slower corners.

watched this back yesterday morning. New layout is a winner. Nice to see Evans was not intimidated into turn 1, although it all unraveled for Lotterer after that. I really don't know what to think of

- Techeeta management versus Da Costa: While Vergne was exterting his number one status, Evans was outta reach. Dumb mistake if you look at how quick Da Costa caught Buemi. Next time Da Costa should answer in Portugese : "Naõ entendo" (or summat like it)

- De Vries versus Da Costa versus Frijns: De Vries already had locked up his brakes numerous times before that clash, although I don't know if it was mechanical or overexerting himself. If he had been smart, he'd just let Da Costa sweep past, get in the slipstream and wait for him to catch Frijns. But he did not, tried a Schumacher and well, we all know how the story ends. Funny thing that, last year people where critical of Vandoorne that he was too soft, De vries (or Nick Debris as Da Costa called him) debuts trying too hard.

It's interesting to see still be seeing so many mistakes from really very experienced drivers.

On the Autosport FE podcast, they are saying that NDV and Abt's crashes were possibly FanBoost related. Certainly NDV's looked weird. Car never wanted to slow down, almost like stuck throttle.

I want to believe this...

Jack Nicholss said something about that during the race.
Abt apparently crashed out while testing out the Fanboost in practice.

But i remember Di Grassi using the Fanboost during the last few laps & nothing bad happened tho.

Well, in doubt, hopefully they'll ditch it

What surprises me is that number of people complaining when they do. ‘Make the cars harder to drive and punish mistakes more’ has been top of racing fans wish lists for years. Now FE’s gone and done just that suddenly the drivers are ‘amateurs’??

De Vries didn't have a good race especially early on, but that lock up was some sort of car failure - the rear wheels were driving while the fronts were locked

Very odd that the brakes are allowed to not work. Massive cok-up if true.
Fanboost may need to run out before a braking point to be safe. Crazy.
Would this be FE spec tech or team software if indeed a car error?

The motor is just 225 kW under fanboost I believe, so it should not completely push through a brake. Brake by wire...oh no that'd be a terrible blooper.

Every team has its electronic software. (and it's a huge part in FE's development)

Other cars with FB didn't have the same problem but I think ABT did in practise - the video angles aren't ideal to tell
