Hard to understand how they are so damn slow. Loosing like sec a lap to kvyat and even williams seems faster with same age tyres.

It depends if Kimi is trying to do 1 stop, while some others 2 stops.

Not sure whst kimi is trying to achieve, should just let leclerc past, hes loosing time way too much fighting him. There is no way he keeps him behind till the end.

To be honest, he knows points are impossible really, so he is enjoying what gives him satisfaction and that is fighting against others.

So far Kimi seems to have zero problems with Leclerc.

Yes, Kimi doing really good laps now. He's also gaining some time to Stroll, Ocon and Kvyat. He's making those tires last.

But he's also been complaining since lap 25 (+/-) that brake pedal is getting longer. Team says it should be ok until the end.

I have no idea what are you talking about, it's clear fight for postion and it would be so stupid to let Leclerc by. It's racing and he should try his best, even if it's 12th position.
Kimi is actually doing great job having that awfully slow car. Good race by him.

Very good even, Leclerc had like 20 laps fresher tyres and overtook others easily but Kimi stopped him completely.

My mistake, I doubted the Iceman way too early :) Clearly he was saving his tyres, it's all paying dividends now. Great race from Kimi

Kimi preserved tyres well so kudos for him, sadly goes to waste with this junk car.

Very very good race by Kimi, would have deserved a point. Best Ferrari powered driver/car today.

The year is over for Alfa Romeo. It did not turn out as I had hoped. Before the season, I had guessed that the points harvest would be about 100 points (about 70 for Kimi and 30 for Antonio). But the car could not compete with McLaren and Renault, so the result was only 8 points after 17 races. Now there is a lot of work left until 2021.

What is positive is the efforts of the drivers. Antonio did a much better season than expected and has been almost equal to Kimi. Who could believe that?! Kimi has of course been the safety himself and as we know he leaves nothing to chance. Strange talk that he does not deliver more than necessary and goes on a savings spree is of course malicious talk. On the contrary, he provides the extra that is needed and helps with everything imaginable. Or to refer to Fred Vasseur: "I still see the passion and motivation in him every time I see him at work. He can be trusted to deliver 100% of what the car can produce and he is a true leader for the people working around him."

Until September, there were rumors that Antonio would be fired and replaced by another driver, but he made several strong races and qualified by a margin for the continuation. He is without a doubt an asset to the team.

Since I also like Haas and look a bit at the whole for the smaller teams, I would have liked Antonio to go to them and Schumacher to Alfa. Antonio finally has lots of experience from 2 seasons together with Kimi and Sauber Alfa Romeo. It would have been interesting to see how Haas could have progressed with Antonio as the leading driver, and at the same time a fantastic combination with the names Raikkonen - Schumacher in the same team (Mick has also said that he would like to be a teammate with Kimi). For Alfa Romeo and its chances of reaching 100 points next season, however, it is better to have the couple Kimi - Antonio left for at least another year (and I hope on more).

Team-mates battle 2020:

Qualifying: 9-8 in Antonios favor.

Race: 12-5 in Kimis favor.

Points: 4 - 4 (equal).

Alfa Romeo points: 8

F1 2020 Class C winner: Kimi Raikkonen (Alfa Romeo, Haas and Williams drivers).

This is it.  :)

We better pray ferrari finds some massive gains to next year on engine side. Its simply frustrating and humiliating to watch all ferrari powered cars to be eaten alive on every power circuit.

Seems so, just so used to the awful pace of the car that it looked invitable that leclerc would overtake him sooner or later. But this time kimi actually made the tyres last by driving rather slow (seemingly on purpose) mid part of the race. so as i said earlier kudos for him on that.

Very good race by Kimi, especially tyre management and the defending from Charles. Now let's hope Ferrari deliver an actual F1 engine next year and we should have a lot more fun again.

And that's the Kimi we know and love. For me, it's one of his strongest races of the year. I know he finished p12 but doing that with only one retirement, keeping 2 Ferrari's, one with much fresher tyres on behind him for 20 odd laps is the ending to the season I wanted to see after last weekends abysmal showing. It was a drive that deserved points imo but just not possible in the end.

It is not worth answering the question, because 100 p had not made any difference compared to 8. Alfa Romeo would have stayed in place 8 in the championship anyway.

But, well... In 2019, the team collected 57 points (Kimi collected 43) and the goal was to be stronger than the year before, compared to the competition. I did not mean exactly 100 points, but around that, maybe 85 - 110 or so. It was not at all unrealistic to think so. No one could even believe that Ferrari would sink as close to the bottom as they did this year. There is a lot we can not know about the future. We should also keep in mind that there were fewer race than expected (although I do not think it would have made a big difference for Alfa).

I set my goal much lower for 2021 and hope that Kimi and Antonio can collect at least 8 points each, so that the team comes up to 16 - 20 points. It would be a good platform for 2022, when a new era begins.

Well Done Kimi. Nice to see him beating both Ferraris again. Best show was in Mugello where he showed some driving skills to both Ferraris at the end of the race. Next year, better car please!

Without his mistake (? he lost a couple seconds at one point) in the closing stages he would have been within shouting distance from Kyvat..

I guess his tires came back at some point, he let Leclerc way to close for having merely been saving them. Or perhaps he had some other issues that cleared themselves forcing his hand.

He didn't do a mistake, he just had to let Max pass him and that took a lot of time.

Kimi is known to be one of the best if not the best on keeping his tyres alive. Lecler destroyed best of his tyres early on the stint by pushing hard, while Kimi just did nurse them.

Leclerc started the stint by doing 1,41,9 and after that was doing 1,42,2-1,43,4 until he catched Kimi who was lapping around 1,43,5-1,44,0. Then Kimi improved and for final 10 laps Kimi did 1,42,1-1,42,9, while Leclerc was hardly able to go under 1,43,x couple of times. So it was tyre and fuel saving on most part.

Do they run customer gearboxes? If not why don't they run customer Ferrari gearboxes and suspension?

Yeah he was awarded something. Cant remember the excact one though.

Btw, does anyone know which logo is there at the end of the bodywork? Above sauber engineering text and next to the rearsuspension connecting part?

FIA Action of the year. Awarded now seven times, won four times by Max Verstappen and three times by Finnish driver.

I must admit I'm not clear on what Alfa and Haas make use of from the Ferrari catalogue. Given the Haas issues with overheating rear suspension I'd be interested to know how Alfa/Ferrari coped (if they were indeed sharing the gearbox, and so the suspension points).
