Let's try out something different this year and trade some shares throughout the year. The price of a driver will depend on the points he scores, a share will be worth the (average points for the last four races)x10. This means that the price will fluctuate a bit depending on the current driver form and of course DNFs or results that are positive or negative outliers.

The 2020 spreadsheet to follow the price evolution and portfolios: https://docs.google....92oKp_qZROikr8/

The starting price depends on the number of points the team scored in 2019. Mercedes for example scored 739/2/21 = 17.59 points per driver per race last year. Let's multiply by 10 and round to get a starting price of 176 for both Hamilton and Bottas. The price cannot be lower than 1.

Starting Prices

```HAM BOT 176
LEC VET 120
VER ALB 99
SAI NOR 35
RIC OCO 22
KVY GAS 20
PER STR 17
RAI GIO 14
MAG GRO 7
RUS LAT 1```
After the first race, the price will be calculated individually for every driver. If Verstappen wins the first race, his new price will be
(3*99+250)/4 = 137 (three times the starting price plus 25 points times 10) / 4.
If Verstappen scores a second place in the second race, his new price will be (2*99+250+180)/4 = 157 after race 2.
You start with 200 credits and can shape your portfolio with that ahead of the first race. The only limitation: The maximum number of shares you can hold per driver is five.
For every round I'll publish the current prices and you decide how many shares you want to sell and buy to increase the worth of the portfolio.
The stock market opens now! Which teams will do better than last year, which driver will outperform his teammate? Can a team improve its' form over the season and score more points in the second half? Let's find out.
Any questions?
So, say I buy Hamilton and Ricciardo. I used 198 credits, right?
Come next round I have another 200 credits, or do I sell my drivers and buy new ones?
Yes, Ham and Ric can be bought for 198 credits together and 2 cr would remain in cash for you. After each race you decide what to to with the shares you own. Sell and sit on the cash or do nothing and hope for better prices to sell. Selling and immediately bying different shares within your budget is of course also possible.
The 200 credits are all you have to play with, there'll be no additional money.
At tue end of the year, the sum of your cash and the shares you own priced at the average points over the last four races decide who's the winner.
Summary: You start with 200 credits and buy shares. The starting prices depend on the average points per driver per race for 2019. You cannot own more than five shares for one driver. The future price will depend on how well the drivers do in the races, how many points they score.
Price = Average points over the last four races times ten, it cannot drop below 1
Before Melbourne and after every race you post to tell me which and how many shares you want to buy or sell. You do not have to trade after every round, you can also just monitor the market and wait for better prices.
Right now, you could play
to spend all the 200 credits.
Or you wait until after the first race, you don't have to buy right now.
During the season, you try to manage your account by selling high and buying low to have more credits than at the start, similar to a stock market.
Let me give you an example with drivers over the first two races.
Round 1:
Cash 200
Starting Price: Ver 99 Rus 1
You've spent 2*99+2*1 = 200 -> Cash 0
Ver wins race 1 -> new price = (3*99 + 10*25)/4 = 137 the price depends on the last four race result
Rus achieves P15 -> new price = (3*1 + 10*0)/4 = 1 as the price cannot get below 1
You own
2 Ver
2 Rus
Portfolio:
Ver 2*137
Rus 2*1
Cash 0
Total 276
Round 2:
Sell 1 Ver
Cash 137
You think that Perez might still be on the rise after an 6th place in the first race -> price = (3*17+10*8)/4 = 33
Buy 4 Per -> Cash 137-4*33 = 5
You own:
1 Ver
2 Rus
4 Per
Ver wins again: price (2*99 + 10*25 + 10*25)/4 = 175
Rus achieves P10: price (2*1 + 10*0+ 10*1)/4 = 3
Per DNF: price (2*17 + 10*8 + 10*0)/4 = 29
Ver 1*175
Rus 2*3
Per 4*29
Cash 5
Total 302
You simply try to find shares that may rise in price and sell them hopefully for more than you've spent on them. Just think of a stock market.
I'll create a spreadsheet later where you can track the price development for all the drivers, it'll also tell how much cash you have and which driver shares you own.
Idk if it's too much to ask for, but is it possible to also include in the spreadsheet how much the driver will be worth after the race if he reaches X result?
That shouldn't be a problem.
