This year's Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in northeastern Florida, held this past weekend, honored the achievements of Roger Penske.  I've posted a number of photos in Racing Comments, but realize some participants here do not necessarily venture there.  Enjoy.

Penske entering the grounds driving a Porsche 550, a type he raced early in his driving career.

Thanks for posting these pics from sunny Florida. It's brightened up a dull UK morning.

The 1970 Lola Indy car is wearing a purple rosette - was it best in show ?

It's a Corporate Award--likely for best Ford-powered competition car.  There are a series of awards presented that I don't pay much attention to.

No, nor the Ferrari 512.  The whereabouts of the Lola have been discussed before.

The Aerovette was always the dream car of my youth.

When the blue one appeared (Astro? Astro II?) I thought it was about the closest thing to a Chaparral 2D that would ever be street-legal.  Assuming the bow-tie people would build them. At age 14, my thought was "Why wouldn't they?"
