Interesting BRM for sale

It included some wonderful period photosThe attached ad is for BRM P48 chassis # 486.
 
Its biggest win was the Victorian Trophy at Ballarat Aerodrome (Central Victoria) in February 1960 over 100 miles. Driven by the legendary Dan Gurney. He beat home Graham Hill in another "works"P48. Also in the field was Innes Ireland in a "works" Lotus 18. 
 
Incredibly it had been stolen for joyrides the night before the race.
 
The circuit has been described as "in the middle of flat, scorched Pastures". Monaco it wasn't!

An unusual feature of the car is the single centrally mounted disc brake at the rear. This can be seen in photos 3 and 5 of the ad.

I recall this has been discussed on TNF but I can't immediately find it.
