Hi

Does anyone know what size the wheels were on von Trips TCA formula junior built in 1960 please? It would help with my scratchbuilt model. I have looked in Harry Morrows book "Formula junior guide" It just says they were Amadori`s.

Thanks, Paul

I can’t help with the wheel sizes but Motor Racing magazine, June 1960 published specifications, including track and wheelbase of a huge range of Juniors. There is also a photograph of Von Trips in the TCA. The wheels look tiny!

I’ve just looked  in Orsini’s Formula Junior book. It says Pneumatici anteriori 5.00x15; pneumatico posteriori 5.00x15

Thanks Roger, i shall look out for that magazine. I have been told the wheels could be 13", does that sound right? considering the 15" tyres. That might be a stupid question but i have`nt a clue.

I think 5.00 x 15 means a 15 inch rim  with a 5 inch deep, or wide, tyre so 25 inch diameter overall.  If the wheels were 13" then the tyres would probably have been 5.00 x 13
