Actually it was a very nice race in 2019. Some nice battles, tension between Leclerc-Hamilton and quite honestly good race director I thought. Also obviously an epic win in Monza by a star Ferrari rookie.
I can imagine it becoming a classic in 20 years time.
I did not watch the race today, instead opting to rewatch Monza 1994.
It's funny how during that 1994 race you could almost think by watching/hearing commentators that Alesi would come and win races/poles with an ease of Leclerc.
The cars looked/sounded great, and it brought a lot of nostalgia feeling, but apart from that I was surprised by how little action actually happened on the track, apart from retirenments/crashes.
And the race director was far worse than anything in 2019. Arguably the most exciting driver during the race was Katayama (very underrated driver in my books), but only one of his overtakes was shown, that is on Hakkinen, which was quite impressive.
Still a good race though, with quite some tension. Poor Alesi, he had it in a bag.
Monza 2019 was a better race though, nostalgia aside.
