Lost a lot of time because I forgot about Ricciardo

4:25 on the timer. That was fun.
Edit: Looks like there are load of other quizzes. The "Anyone but Patrick Tambay" one amuses me. Looks difficult though.

If anyone missed it, the BBC did a similar quiz - name the pole sitters 2000-2019

Time taken - 1 min, 58 seconds (4:02 on the timer). I zoned out completely on Leclerc and Ricciardo and butchered Kovalainen's name.

4.26 on the timer.
Lost precious seconds while pressing tab the first couple of times and the k's and n's in kimi and mika's surnames.

This was great. I didn't bother with the anagrams, just type from memory and it's way faster / easier.

Took me less than a minute, it's way too easy with the team names

Missed one, had the rest within 2 minutes. Not too shabby.

3:39 on the timer. Wouldn't accept Räikkönen so had to write Raikkonen.

Ok this quiz is a throwaway bit of fun, but their podcasts are consistently excellent, and their YouTube videos are also well put together and informative. Really enjoy watching them.
The Gary Anderson podcasts, and the ‘bring back v10’s’ series were both excellent, and so is their weekly update one.
Good to see someone new coming through and with such good output, especially with so many sources closing down over the years.

Haha same here

Sporcle is good fun.
I played these two last week:
F1 Point Scorers in the 90s
and
F1 Point Scorers in the 00s
Harder than you think!
And for anyone wanting a quick laugh, watching this guy (not an F1 fan) play the aforementioned quizzes last week really tickled me. A great Martin Brundle gag in there

Got all of them but don't know how rapidly as I mistyped "Verstappen" and didn't notice LOL. I spent ages trying to think of someone who'd won for Red Bull beyone him, Vettel, Ricciardo and Webber.

Never thought I'd see him in an AUTOSPORT thread.

Yeah I rattled that one off pretty quick but the Tambay one really was fun, didn't manage to complete it, got 45/58, failed quite hard on the "won two Grand Prix" section - getting only two drivers (in both cases because I entered them for other sections)

One minute exactly, team names make it very easy. Bottas was the final one I got weirdly
Slight confession though, I do play these quizzes on Sporcle quite often. Love doing the livery ones in particular

4:48 left on the clock. The last one I remembered was Kovalainen. Team names helped a lot for the last few.
It also helped that typing Schumacher gave me Ralf as well or I might've not remembered him quickly either.

Ridiculous. With some six minutes left on the clock I had named 25 of 26 drivers, but I never figured out who would be in 25th position.

Tell you what I'll be impressed if anyone can do the one for all the WDC race winners, especially given that the Indy 500s are included and you only have 12 minutes.

In percentage terms I think I would stand a much better chance with this one!

I'd have a go at the F1 winners, but wouldn't be able to name the 1950-60 Indianapolis winners.
EDIT: Got flustered and only got 62% within the limit. Would have got most, if not all of the actual F1 wiiners, but not the Indianapolis drivers.

It's extra hard because there was only one repeat winner in that group.

If there's one for all Indy 500 winners ever I reckon I could get 100%. All GP winners is much more difficult because it's very difficult to be methodical enough to avoid some easy misses.
I thought it was the lack of time to enter the answers that caused me to blank - some of the drivers I forgot were easy, and I'd have remembered them had there been more time.

The time limit is a factor of course, but fundamentally these quizzes are tests of recall rather than knowledge. If the quiz was presented as a list of 200 (say) racing drivers and you had to say yes or no as to whether they had won a GP, I'm sure you would have scored at or close to full marks. A quiz with that format would be much less fun though.

5:00 left. But I agree with Collombin, I have better recall than I have knowledge!

Absolutely, but the time limit was a factor for me by causing me to forget some that I ought to have remembered.

102/108. Missed four of the Indy 500 winners (Bryan, Parsons, Sweikert and Wallard), Surtees (yes, I rather embarrassingly missed a world champion...) and Depailler.

I got 54 on the Tambay one! I do play a lot of Sporcle quizzes though, so I have in my head a lot of potential answers from the "olden days".
