Decent race, but only really came alive towards the end due to incidents. And we were robbed of Max possibly being able to challenge the Mercs.

Best driver: Bottas, Leclerc, Norris. Honestly these three didn't put a foot wrong.

Worst driver: Latifi? Vettel? Nobody stood out as being bad

Best team: McLaren - got the most out of what they had

Worst team: Haas

Best overtake: Norris/Perez

Worst overtake Whatever Vettel thought he was doing

Best moment: Lando's FL and podium

Worst moment: Hamilton/Albon clash

DRS - made some passes too easy. Tyres were fine.

I didn't think Red Bull did much to be deemed worse. They could have won the race with either car if not for the issues. Albon's exit wasn't the teams fault.

I don't know if I'm just grumpy because Lewis didn't do very well - but I struggled to fully enjoy it. I can't put my finger on why. These races just don't strike me like the classics from the past 10-15 years. It was all safety car, new tyres vs old tyres, 50m lunges, cars too big for the circuit, control the temperatures. Basically a modicum of today's F1.

7/10

Well, that was pretty epic. What a crazy race. So happy for Lando and McLaren but feel so sorry for Russell and Albon.

Thought that was lots of fun. A good way to start the season, heck of a lot going on.

Suspect next weekend will be a little more dull but hope I’m proved wrong.

Think the battle behind Merc/RB looks really close and like it could provide a lot of action this year.

Not every team and driver is gonna do good in every race .So  I never get this sentiment.

...the salt  :rotfl:

Anyway

8/10 for me.

Great racing at moments, Leclerc ! Lando! Bravo to Bottas ofc.

Major disappointment with RB ,double DNF ,really? Max deserves more.

Mclaren  !

Best driver: Leclerc (would say Norris but his overtake on Perez was a tad naughty)

Worst driver: Vettel
Best team: McLaren
Worst team: Haas
Best overtake: Leclerc on Perez
Worst overtake: Vettel on Sainz or Vettel on Kvyat
Best moment: When the gap between Lando and Lewis flashed up on screen
Worst moment: Max's failure
DRS + tyres + other: Little bit too overpowered DRS (as Brundle said), didn't see full potential of front-runner on mediums as Max retired, kerbs seemed quite problematic which made it a little tense at Mercedes

And the race in a sentence: Stay off the kerbs, this is critical. 8/10

Not even a Leclerc fan, but he was excellent today.

Best driver: Bottas fastest on saturday AND sunday

Worst driver: Romain Grosjean
Best team: Mercedes rocketship
Worst team: Red Bull donkeys
Best overtake: Albon on 'bad loser' Hamilton
Worst overtake: I didn't know that exists
Best moment: Lando taking a podium
Worst moment: Hamilton clears Albon from winning the race
DRS + tyres + other: nothing to say

Good race, and I really missed it these last few months. Really happy for Lando, he's starting to look quite handy. Can't help but think tho, that
compared against Max and LeClerc, he reminds me of Goose. Max is Iceman, and Charles is Maverick.

What a great way to start the season, lots of racing, drama and overtaking, I scored it a 9!

Congratulations to the podium finishers and especially happy to see Norris/McLaren there. Hoping to see a similar event next week.

10/10 ... not for the actual race, but for Liberty jumping through the necessary hoops to pull it off. Chapeau!

I gave it an 8 because there was no battle for the lead on the last few laps but actually, I think it deserves a 9.

Always fantastic, and quite rare, to see a drivers first podium. Especially the way it unfolded at the end. So happy for Lando and Mclaren, I was definitely giving some Zac Brown fist pumps into the air!

Max is Iceman, and Charles is Maverick.

Quite possibly the best analogy I've seen to date. Getting real Senna v Prost vibes with these two, the quicker they are in a duel for the World Championship, the better.

Great way to start the delayed 2020 season. Gutted for Ricciardo he was just starting to get fiesty with Vettel before the cooling issue.Hard luck to Max too. Very happy for Lando and McLaren. Vettel wtf, yet another brain fade. Not impressed with Lewis either wrecking Albons race.

8/10

Good race despite the Really Bad Reliability.

Best driver: Charles Leclerc
Worst driver: Nicholas Latifi
Best team: Mercedes, dominant and brought both cars home.
Worst team: I will say Alfa Romeo because they made the ens a bit less exciting than it could have been.
Best overtake: Norris on Perez
Worst overtake: Vettel on Sainz
Best moment: Lando taking the podium.
Worst moment: Equal Verstappen and Albon/Hamilton collision.
DRS + tyres + other: -

And the race in a sentence: A good race that would have been great with the Red Bull drivers still in it, I hope Ferrari's update for Hungary is good.

I missed the "best comment" item, mine is:

Danii Kyvat drily saying "puncture" on the radio when his tire exploded. Dry, even finnish kind of humour.

Best driver: NORRIS. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Worst driver: Vettel
Best team: McLaren
Worst team: Red Bull
Best overtake: Norris on Perez
Worst overtake: Vettel on Sainz
Best moment: Norris 3rd.
Worst moment: Ricciardo retiring, Crofty pronouncing Alpha Tauri ‘Alpha Towery’. Repeatedly.
DRS + tyres yep.
Race in a sentence- it’s good to have it back.

Best driver: Norris, shouts outs for Bottas, Perez and Russell though.
Worst driver: Vettel, struggled more than Leclerc, spun and then made no progress through the pack only finishing ahead of Latifi.
Best team: Mclaren
Worst team: Haas
Best overtake: I would have said Albon on Hamilton.
Worst overtake: Vettel on Sainz, not sure what he was doing.
Best moment: Watching that final lap constantly checking the live timing to see Lando pull the gap down to 4.8
Worst moment: Hamilton spinning Albon when Albon looked like he could have won this race.
DRS + tyres + other: They were there.

And the race in a sentence: Back with a bang. 9/10

I thought it was one of the best season openers for years. It was like a throwback to a bygone era - the cars broke down and bits fell off them, the drivers made mistakes, we had side by side battles and surprise results, Ferrari were slow and seemingly ill-prepared yet their new star driver still hustled it to a very strong result....

Best driver - Leclerc. That was a Schumacher 1998 or Alonso 2012 performance. Absolutely brilliant. Great overtaking, tenacity, opportunism and hauling a result out of the car that really wasn’t realistic, his brilliance highlighting the sad state of affairs that is his team-mate.
Worst driver - I’d like to give it to Vettel, but I really, really wasn’t impressed with Nicholas Latifi. So apparently he was deliberately leaving performance in the table and taking a sensible approach was he? Well, much as that sounds pretty bizarre for his own sake I hope it’s true because he was absolutely slow as a brick. He made Robert Kubica look decent.
Best team - McLaren, talk about maximising your potential score. I hope that was genuine, not an Australia 2014-style false dawn.
Worst team - I mean they finished second and all, but Ferrari were pretty bad. Racing Point disappointed me. Haas were poor but Magnussen ran respectably most of the afternoon. Williams were much improved. But overall, despite the points score, Alfa Romeo were the most disappointing.
Best overtake - Norris on Perez
Worst overtake - Vettel on Sainz. He did it again!
Best moment - I know the safety cars maybe made it look closer than it was, but that final restart and the feeling that Mercedes really weren’t as invincible as all that and Albon could actually have been in the box seat to win. Obviously it didn’t happen but it’s encouraging.
Worst moment - history repeating for both Vettel, and more crucially for Hamilton with Albon. Come on guys, you’re meant to be two of the best in the business, the best of your generation. Both were clumsy and spoiled the race in their own ways.

7/10. A fairly good season opener helped largely due to several Safety cars. Otherwise I doubt there would of been much action at all.

Best driver: Leclerc - Alonso-esque performance, car didn't deserve P2

Worst driver: Vettel - Just awful all round, although his car looked undriveable

Best team: McLaren - Beat RP, got a podium, second in Constructors. Not bad.

Worst team: Red Bull - 'We're gonna challenge Mercedes'... double DNF.

Best overtake: Leclerc on Perez

Worst overtake: Albon on Hamilton

Best moment: Norris podium on final lap

Worst moment: Verstappen DNF

DRS + tyres + other: Average

And the race in a sentence: Safety car saves yet another potential dull race.

Best driver: Lando Norris. He was stellar in qualifying and his fastest lap at then end of the race was epic

Worst driver: Vettel

Best team: McLaren. The most consistent team. No mistakes, no reliability problems.

Worst team: Haas

Best overtake: Norris on Perez

Worst overtake: Vettel on Sainz.

Best moment: Following Norris's fastest lap which earned him the podium at the end of the race.

Worst moment: Hamilton's collision with Albon

DRS + tyres + other: 3 DRS zones should be reduced to 2. Tyres were good. Some kerbs should be removed.

And the race in a sentence: Never give up.

Some kerbs should be removed.

I disagree - I'd like to see similar (consequential) curbs added to other tracks, as long as there's adequate runoff room in case of tire or suspension failure.  The "hard" edge to the track really enforced proper driving where they were present and prevented abuse that we saw elsewhere.

Best driver: It's impossible for me to split, Charles Leclerc & Lando Norris deserve equal billing.

Worst driver: Nicholas Latifi, way off the pace.
Best team: Mercedes. The class of the field as far as the car that they've produced is concerned.
Worst team: Mercedes. Their weakest link? James Vowles. The man is incapable of seeing the wood for the trees.
Best overtake: Leclerc on Perez
Worst overtake: Vettel on Sainz
Best moment: Lando's reaction in taking a podium,
Worst moment: Mercedes' introduction of team orders.
DRS + tyres + other: Neither the DRS nor Tyres were the disaster that they, on occasion, have been. The same does not apply to Mr Vowles, sadly. Were Mercedes not the dominant rocketship that has been developed and without top-line drivers, the result of his appalling strategy calls would be substantially more noticeable.
