Looking at the laps of Mercedes this season and how that car is planted and how it enters and exits corners either high or low speed ones, I started wondering if they have some diff tricks. The thing I imagined is linking diff lock values to individual gears so the car dials into a different value at each gear: very open diff in 1st gear to almost welded at 8th.

 

Or maybe I'm just drunk and hallucinating.

It's obvious that Mercedes have some gimmick that gives them massive advantage.

The problem is, nobody knows what it is exactly, only speculations.

 

We might never know.
