Good evening.

I wonder if anyone is in contact with Bob Burnard? He was a well known racer and won the Veedol Trophy.

I believe he might be the first owner of a car we own and would love to be put in contact.

Many thanks,

Paul

Might help if you gave details of the car.

Yes that’s him. His name is down in the log book as the first owner of a Lotus Elite I own and I would love to speak with him to see if he has any history of the car.

He also raced an Abarth-Simca.

Edited to say just scrolled down to find another thread on the Abarth.

I remember him winning the Veedol Championship with his AC Ace at the TT meeting at Goodwood in 1962. His prize was a Lotus 27 Formula Junior car and it was presented to him by Paul Getty, proprietor of the Veedol oil company. He failed to set the world alight during his Formuila Junior season.

Bob would be a fair age now, if he is still around

Thanks Vince I’ll give them a try.

Alan Cox - Yes I read an article that Bob was 6”2. so probably not the best size for a Lotus single seater. I agree he must be late 70’s/80 now which is why I’d like to find someone who knows him or is incontact with him to introduce us.

^ Yes, I remember feeling sorry for him at the time: won a single seater and wouldn't fit in it. The ultimate torment.

By any chance is the car that you own the ex Bob Burnard AC BRISTOL? my reason for asking is that I also owned and raced that car in sixties.

I bought just before I left the RAF in 1964.It was a great car.

Hi Clive. I own a Lotus Elite that Bob purchased and built in 1962. I have since managed to speak with Bob.
