So the Mongolian government is sending out a lot of letters. I wonder if they send one to Max as well. I am also curious about the letter to Aston Martin and the response. A matter for the chairman executive i guess. I wouldn't be surprised if he don't agree with the swearing directed to Lance with these words. Maybe they even consider switching the sponsorship to the team of the affected driver purely as repercussion.

Yes, it’s highly likely that aston Martin will sever ties with redbull at the end of the year, and switch all backing to strolls team. In fact they will rebrand the team to show their support for Mongolia.

All Max’s fault.

This thread is becoming ridiculous..now there is some random Mongolian politian who demands something...oh please. Let him fix the obvious human right issues first in his country before going of on some driver who mentioned the word mongol...its just attention drawing politics. way more disgusting then just a swear.

Max acknowledged that he used wrong words and that he will learn...now please stop this nonsense...

Max will never learn it is in his blood and its clear he is a spoiled brat and this will be one of the main reasons he will not be considerd for top seat unless he is the only option.

Imvho he is a modern day maldonado

He willbe foreced to apologise and fined heavy I suspect as the race as one that the Mongolian politian is using is a fair point

There is a world of difference between an acknowledgment and an apology.

One says 'I'm not going to use that word again because I've learned my lesson - there's a lot of noise and heat that comes with its use'

The other says "I'm not going to use that word again because I've learned my lesson - my language caused offence to some people, even though that was not my intent, and as an adult I understand and accept that"

No there is no difference, just your opinion. Its just nitpicking. We should stop doing that.

tbh though with those things I always wonder why he doesnt just apologise formally to get done with it. By declining so he makes the impression that he actually to some extent subscribes to these comments ("he wouldnt mean it if he apologises") and unlike Norris this is not a simple opinion, but something where you definitely can't have two opinions about it, at least not reasonably.

I assume it's not the case, but then it's just proudness, which some may see as a strong trait, but to me it's not, especially not in this business.

Usually when you apologize in this era you acknowledge guilt and then people you never met want money to go with the apology, especially when it involves rich, public figures.

A world full of snowflakes, this PC bullsh*t train ain’t stopping anytime soon.

When the western world comes to an end, those PC people would be ignored.

Ehh. From Silverstone.

Now, I dont remember exactly, but wasnt the general reaction that it was FP and Verstappen didn't need to go off like he did, but that Stroll was an idiot there?

I think it was already the 4th time this season that Stroll blocked Max and even more blocked or messed other drivers practice lap. So I understand the frustration of some driver.

Still, I don't think Max should use those words. On the other hand, if people from certain countries are offended, they don't have a lot on their hands... Just learn from it, and go forward.

Oh, so "saying" is worse than "doing", ya No I do not think so, doing thing repeatedly is even worse than just saying it.

I mean you cause collision by doing it actually.

Tsunoda says he needs to work on his ‘weak point’ of anger and swearing on the radio

He was getting very worked up for it being a free practice session. Hope some of that anger translates to fiesty on track overtakes/defending

It's a conversation between team members, they can say what they like. The fact that they allow FOM to be privy to those to televise them doesn't mean they should change their behaviour.

Arguably it spoils the mystique that they play these at all. I'm all for going back to enccrypted.

I agree. Some of the best memories I've had of F1 is when in some corners, you could just catch a glimpse of the driver's eyes. Or later, when in Grand Prix Internationals those glorious photo's of close-ups were published. Untouchable astronauts, so near and yet so far...

Yeah, penalty begging is by far the worst aspect. Sainz in particular is a repeat offender in this regard. Massively embarrassing.

The commentary team are equally as bad. Brundle particularly, as well as Croft, constantly attempt to influence the stewarding.

I know we do get a lot more radio snippets in the broadcast than in the past, but I do feel the swearing has got a lot worse in recent years.

I can't imagine Schumacher or Hakkinen, Damon Hill, Herbert etc swearing like today's nut cases. Hamilton also doesn't swear much.

The interjection from MBS reminds me of the time one FIA oddball wrote a letter of complaint about Loeb because he didn't shave or brush his hair (to an adequate level in their mind).

It's a legacy thing.  They want to preserve the blazers, ties and leather armbands tradition of motor sport governance.

Yes. I'll stick my tongue out and claim that it is only an issue in English-speaking countries, and not because all (most) F1 radio communication is in English.

As an Australian, I always find it a bit jarring at first when a song is on in a supermarket or shop when I'm on holidays in Europe with full swearing which wouldn't even be played on the radio at certain hours at home. I don't have an issue with it but I think it illustrates the difference you're trying to note. I think we generally are more conservative regarding swearing.

I'm afraid I'm one of those "broadcasting radio spoils the mystique" people.
