We are investigating the engines used for the works Hyper S
Can anyone confirm some had twin heads as photos in Motor Sport in 1928 show the twin head set up.
Are there any other photos or coverage of this set up?

Twin heads?

Do you actually mean twin-port heads?

So far as I know the engines of the S types raced by the works had fairly standard single-port cylinder heads and the only serious changes to the 4ED engines were a Cozette supercharger and a roller bearing crankshaft.

Perhaps you can send me a link to the photos you refer to at allan at alupton co uk (or even post it here) and I'll pass it to the man who knows, the Lea-Francis OC's Registrar.
