I’ve done some modifications to satisfy the criteria. It’s definitely something a lot of people want to talk about looking at the performances of Vettel compared to the driver he is replacing

The current Seb would be a downgrade on most drivers on the grid to be honest, but I'm confident he's gonna bounce back next season especially as he should easily have the measure of Stroll which will boost his confidence. So no, I think he'll do well at Aston Martin

that it's even a question whether he will beat Stroll is depressing.

I find the hopes that he will somehow be a different driver there extremely delusional, but he is not that bad either. Even if circumstances could always strike against him.

While I dont consider him an upgrade over Perez I guess Aston Martin might generate enough marketing value to not regret it.

Whilst I don’t believe he’ll be a massive upgrade to Perez, you can’t really compare current Seb to next year’s Seb. Look at other drivers who thrived at a new team after some delusional years at Ferrari. Massa came back to life at Williams in 2014, as did Raikkonen in 2012 and 2019. Though I agree 2012 was after a two year absence.

Personally I think Aston Martin are using him like Mercedes used Schumacher in 10-12. Vettel going there to build and develop a team for the future. Once there in the right position they hire the next young star driver to lead the team to success

At this point in time, my answer to the 2nd question would be yes, they will regret it, and it won't last longer than 2021 in the end.

First question, I can't tell, I really can't.

The only glimmer of hope I see, could be that he just checked out and doesn't bother anymore at Ferrari. Which in it's own way would be unprofessional as hell, but at least it would carry the hope that he can "check in" again next year at Aston.

But I'm not holding my breath.
