I spot a Dick Johnson Sierra

Edit: Nope not a DJ Sierra - my bad. Saw a red Sierra with Shell stickers and immediately thought it was Dicks

I definitely have a soft spot for Sierra's, might be because my parent's first car together was one. It was a 1.8 sedan though, struggling to pull our caravan (we're Dutch afterall) over the mountains towards Italy.

Just checked their prices, but the ones that survived the years are actually in really nice condition and even the standard versions reached collector status right now.

I was not expecting to be watching racing from Goodwood this weekend, so this is a lovely surprise!

This + Bathurst + MotoGP makes for a fine weekend's viewing

Good idea for a Paddock Club thread, this.

Can we please have a Goodwood Speed weekend every week - more overtaking for the lead in a 5 lap race for 80-100 year old cars than a whole season of F1.

The guys driving those old cars are nuts - the Derracq especially. Driving that looks like sitting in a camp chair on top of an old bed frame while racing at 100mph 😅

Haha Andre Lotterer saying he is having a lot more fun driving these older cars than he has in his real job 🤣

Ahh, could this be the reason why they won't fully unleash F1 cars on the Goodwood hillclimb?

I hated the sound of the DFR back in 1989, compared to the Renault, the Honda, the Ferrari or the Lambo (especially the Lambo).

My God that run by that Arrows...

Sad to hear that VW have decided not to bring the ID.R to this event as planned because of Covid. Would have loved to have seen it going for it around the Goodwood circuit

Painful, but part of the deal watching these pieces of art put to use.

Mostly Pearson's fault I guess? That Lotus took a weird line, but I guess it's the lapper's responsibility.

For those dismissing Mark Blundell as past it after his lack lustre 2019 BTCC season, beating the 2019 BTCC champion Turkington in equal(ish) Lotus-Cortinas and only a cars length behind Andrew Jordan in another such car, suggests he does still have it!

Due to a new sprog (baby), I am only just catching up with Goodwood's Speedweek. I was absolutely disgusted by Gary Pearson's totally unnecessary antics in the Stirling Moss Memorial Race. It is always the responsibility of the overtaking driver to do so safely. I don't care that he is the most "winningest" driver at Goodwood, whatever that means, he should know better. I sincerely hope he is paying of the repair of the Lotus Elite and the Ferrari. He should be quietly banned from Goodwood, like Sytner, as that was unforgivable. At the end of the day, it's a bloody hobby for most of us. We're not going to win a seat at Mclaren, so just take a breath and act like a gentleman.
