Buongiorno a tutti!

Time to race at Imola, for the Emilia Romagna GP!

After Mika Hakkinen & Kimi Raikkonen, another finnish guy got the pole at the Circuit Enzo & Dino Ferrari: this time it's Valtteri Bottas with his Black Arrow!

Check out his incredible quali lap!

Championship Leader Lewis Hamilton secured P2 after a "bad lap", just 0,090s off his teammate.

Ah, the Mind Games! We can expect the F1's Recordman mounting a charge towards his teammate on Lap 1!

Max Verstappen kept his cool after a difficult quali, with some electrical problem in his Honda Power Unit.
Stil, got his P3 spot, in front of an incredible Pierre Gasly.

The Frenchman got an extra boost from wearing the Ayrton Senna's Lid this weekend, and finished not far from the Red Bull. Can he get another maiden Podium?

Elr-I3-Vr-Xg-AAQE3g.jpg

Ferrari idol, Charles Leclerc will start only P7
The monegasque driver did his best with the current Ferrari package, but the Circuit of Imola doesn't seems to suit the car to perfection.

Should be a more difficult race for the guys in Red compared to Portimao!

LAP 1, BRACE FOR IMPACT!

AND FINGERS CROSSED

Race Starts in Imola are CRUCIAL!
Not just beacause it's not super easy to overtake here (even tho DRS & the removed chicane should help a lot), but also beacause contacts are very likely in the first few chicanes.

Do you remember those monumental crashes??

A TIPICAL SUNDAY'S MENU IN IMOLA!

SIMPLE YET TASTY FOODS!

Time to have a good Lunch before the race start
A Tipical Sunday's Italian lunch is composed by:

LASAGNA AL FORNO

Very delicious plate, with ragù, besciamella & pasta.

album-di-default-3275153.660x368.jpg

ARROSTO CON PATATE

After a good old portion of Lasagna, it's time to get a flavourful Arrosto con Patate.

Bring additional extra-flavour adding some extra Rosmarino, would do just fine!

NO TIME FOR A DESSERT!

Race is starting EARLY!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RACE TIMETABLE

EARLIER THAN YOU THINK!

START AT 12.10 (UK TIME), 13.10 CET

ENJOY THE RACE!

AND BRING IMOLA BACK NEXT SEASON!

All set, all ready for a Classic GP at Imola.

The weather is perfect, 18°c, clear skies. Perfect temperatures to have a good race!

Hopefully it will be a good, entertaining race, with maybe an unexpected result. One can hope!

Remember the last race that took place there?

It was 2006...

Expecting LH to find a way past VB, either at the start or later on, in spite of the short DRS zone. Going to be fun nonetheless as I'm sure LH's inherent race pace advantage is quite large this weekend.

Another lonely race for Max.

I really want Gasly to hold on to P4, but the penalty of starting on Softs will be very high. AT focussed on long runs more than others in FP, so hopefully it will pay off. Wouldn't even put it past the Gazman to have a run at Max into T1.

Ricciardo has a very, very important day ahead of him to try and help Renault pull clear in the constructors. I would back him in a straight fight vs Gasly, Albon, Leclerc, etc. but a big caveat in that he may have overqualified his car.

Hope Kvyat can make it a double points score for AT in their attempts to upstage Ferrari both at home and in the WCC. Deserves one last good drive before his inevitable departure.

McLaren looked quick all weekend until Q3. It will be a struggle from P9-P10 with arguably slower cars in front, and quick cars behind on better tyres.

Perez from P11 is my outside bet for P4. RP is devilishly quick in race trim and free tyre choice will be a bonus.

If Russell can have a solid start he should be quick enough to break free from the lower starting Alfas, Haas, as he did last week. I said earlier that those running lower DF may improve as the weekend goes on, and that's exactly the situation Williams are in. A sniff of points, but only that.

Should be an easy one stop. Warm-up is fine so a few will risk H-M outside the top 10, I suspect.

And thanks to the early start time it's only 1hr 40 away :D

Nice pic (real or photoshop?) .. the 'tash suits him. If he drives like Nigel today it would be a fabulous race for the win... but, he won't

Bottas is driving under the influence of a moustache... expect elbows out at the start... Bottas 3.11 has arrived.

Lewis will drive 2-3 seconds behind Bottas, Bottas will destroy his tyres, then Lewis will overcut him like the GOAT he is while telling his team "the tyres are still ok".

Why is F1 doing this? Concerns about daylight/track temperatures?

Yeah, we are getting deep into the autumn. Better safe than sorry. And the early start mean, that I can get out having a drink with friends and still be back for supper today. Win-win-win.

Well, we're in November already after all and the sun sets rather early in Europe this time of the year - quick check says it's around 17:00 local time. And they need a comfortable time margin on top of that.

I'm going to have it on the radio while I clean the cats' litter trays. One of them has had a bad week for reasons I don't understand so compared to that the race will be very pleasant!

Just now watching the pre race buildup show on the F1 youtube channel .... DC just interviewed SP in English and then at the end asked him for a few words in "Mexican"  :rotfl:

SP, ever the pro, didnt even bat an eyelid.

It's to start the race window 4 hours before sunset isn't it, since Japan 2014? (though Baku seems to get away with this)

I fear cleaning cat decrement could give F1 in its current state a run for its money for pleasure... ;)

Is it a specific rule now? Would make sense with the maximum race time including red flags etc being 4 hours.
