Incidentally the wonderful Dick Salmon who as a BRM team mechanic worked on everything from V16 to 4-cyls to V8s to H16s and V12s and who is the gentleman featured in the closing scenes of the movie is now 96 - God bless him.

Oh brilliant. I was wondering if it was him in the film.

Who is the engine shop engine tester, Doug?  Rick Hall?

That is beautifully done.  Is that a three volume history on the shelf there at about 26 seconds?

They don't make them like that any more ... and the film is pretty good as well.  Lovely.

Dick Salmon's biography "BRM A Mechanic's Tale belongs on that bookshelf as well.

The dyno tester is John Owen, now 82 - second son of Sir Alfred Owen (long-time owner and indeed saviour of BRM) - former England rugby international and now proud owner of V16 No IV.

Issue 10 of Magneto arrived in selected Aussie newsagents a couple of weeks ago. Point being it has 8 (mainly photographic) pages devoted to the Owen BRM archive. Of course that means it covers a minor blip in what DCN may be of the rare breed of TNF member to have viewed in totality. However, it looks like that is changing with mention of Silverstone Interactive Museum.

Not sure if this has been flagged-up already on TNF but don't miss...

I think it is just...lovely...but I have always been sentimental.  Veteran BRM team mechanic Dick Salmon stars...
