I think a driver swap like that would be a prefect gauge to see how much success is driver vs car.

My guess is Lew would finish approximately 15th & Russell around 5th-ish

I'd be quite surprised if Russell finished any less than 3rd and that's only due to unfamiliarity with the car.  Hamilton would likely end up racing Vettel again, except this time at the back of the field instead of the front

Surely HAM would have driven for Williams when Frank was actually involved if he was going to bother at all

I cannot imagine this ever happening although it would be interesting to hear Hamilton's private comments if this were ever offered to him.

Been hesitant to bump this thread ... but after FP1 all the shackles have been thrown off .... let hot takes and rampant speculation reign!

 

 

Its just a shame we could not see the other half of my dream swap .... but who knows -  may if LH is able to go to Abu Dhabi he might drive the Williams

A better idea for a 30 driver F1 field is to open up another 5 slots for new teams. Not really what this thread is about though.

Good too if Lewis comes back to Abu Dhabi and Bottas get out for some reason. So we can get some Lewis vs Russell already.
