I have a period reference to the use of BP5 as a fuel at Brooklands. Does anyone know what the mix was. It is not one of the many fuels listed by Phil Irving in Automobile Engine Tuning. There was a BP F which was 80% methanol as was Vac.5 and Esso No.5.  Could that be it?

Have you ever asked Barry Carr if he can find out about this, Terry?

He might have the right contacts, though I agree that the passage of time might have eliminated many.

Have you tried the BP Archive, Terry? It's housed at the University of Warwick.
