It's been bruited elsewhere that today's Turkish GP podium is the most decorated of all time? For those who missed it, the top three were

1. Lewis Hamilton (6, soon to be 7 world titles, 94 Grand Prix wins)
2. Sergio Perez (er, runner-up in GP2, sort of the Ringo of this group)
3. Sebastian Vettel (4 world titles, 53 Grand Prix wins)

A decent trio! Can we do any better? You're welcome to interpret the rubric as creatively as you like.

A personal favourite of mine - Spain 2001.

Schumacher - Montoya - Villeneuve

Add up the F1 WDC's, CART IndyCar titles and Indy 500 wins in that trio. Not bad!

USA 2012 saw Hamilton, Vettel and Alonso.

Well, Alonso - Raikonnen - Schumacher in Valencia 2012 was pretty good, no?

Hard to beat 11 titles on one podium, even with hindsight of complete careers with titles yet to be won at the time.

The difference between today's and some of those cited in the past is that Hamilton and Vettel have the 11 titles in the books now, rather than going on to win them as with Spain 01 or USA 12

Also, just for fun, not the first time today’s drivers have shared the top step:

1993 Spanish GP wasn't bad if you take future success into account. Prost/Senna/Schumacher.

I think we have a "hindsight" winner there. Though I guess it was a mere 6 at the time.

8 F1 WDC's, 2 CART IndyCar titles and 3 Indy 500 wins. And no love lost between them! Lol

My instant reaction was "of course they must have, lots of times", then it took me ages to find an actual example. Cleveland Indycar 1989.

2012 European GP at Valencia had Alonso/Kimi/Schumacher on the podium which also had 10 F1 WDC between them at the time.

It would have been great if Mercedes had sent Niki Lauda to the podium when he was still with us.
