FOM overplaying crash replays? Distasteful or ‘part of the action’?

Ricciardo is ‘disgusted’ by the amount of times FOM showed the Grosjean replays, and says it was disrespectful to Grosjeans family and to the other drivers who were getting ready to climb back in the cars

Is this correct? Obviously as a participant he is entitled to an opinion on this, perhaps more so than us viewers... but then at the same time it was clear that Romain was freed of the wreckage (by himself) and with a race stoppage it is surely inevitable that they will want to analyse the accident and use that to fill the void in action.

He was relatively unhurt so I don't see the problem. They waited until he was out the car and clearly not seriously injured.

When someone is relatively unhurt, I can't get enough replays. Also, would we want to have missed out on the guys helping him escape the fire?

Disagree, if you dont like it dont watch it, instead of trying to stop everyone to watch it.

Also I would like to see the full onboard of Grosjean up until the camera dies. They cut that bit about 2 seconds before the impact.

Really weird that this comes from a guy like Ricciardo

I would find it disrespectful to not show it, I could watch it all over again to see the medical drivers' heroics, the fact that Grosjean survived, etc.

If he had died or seriously injured it would be a different matter.

I was surprised that nobody was watching Grosjean on the onboard channels on the F1TV app. It was my understanding that you could view any car? I could/probably am wrong which explains why it hasn’t surfaced

I'd always assumed that this was the actual extent of the footage. In my mind at least, I imagine there's a delay between the car's camera capturing the footage and sending what it has collected to the TV compound, so the final couple of seconds are never received because the camera system has met its maker before it can send the data. But I should note that I am hypothesising here.

I might be wrong, but it always seems like the last couple of seconds are missing in incidents where the camera is destroyed.

Are there many fans allowed into the track this weekend? Often the fan-shot replays are quite interesting to see and fill in the gaps in how incidents played out.

Looked like that from the Stroll-roll as well.

But I am sure we did get footage from crashes in "previous times" where the footage lasted much longer?
