For those of you who like WDC racing cars, and especially the less common ones, I have a tip to take a look at.

I stumbled onto this page some weeks ago, and it is a real treasure trove of both the commonly known cars and the lesser known variants. It focuses on what the cars looked like and their decorations, which is especially interesting for privately entered cars, but also to follow changes in sponsor stickers over a season. Even though I have followed Formula 1 closely since 1968, there were many variations that were new to me. Apart from the standard side views and potted history, there is usually a list of chassis numbers and where they have been used, by whom. After that there are many contributors who show photos from their personal collection as well. I would think an excellent source for modellers as well. It is a work in progress, but it seems to be nearing completion by now.

The drawings are the work of Sauro Torreggiani and the histories by Massimo Picciotti. Oh, and most of the text is in Italian, but to understand most of it, that is not a real problem. If you know that telaio means chassis, you've got enough italian to understand everything except the longer stories

It can be found at : https://forum.p300.it/cat/40-scuderie-di-formula-1-le-auto-di-sauro/

You have to register (free) to get to view everything, but I promise you, it is worth it.

Oh, I forgot to tell you, it is also a great source for cutaway drawings (Spaccato in Italian).

On 2-6-2021 I received a message that the drawings are no longer available through p300.it. The drawings are now available through his own website: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=53824144  . It appears however that they are no longer free to view. The quality of what I have seen was pretty good, so if you are interested, it is worth trying a subscription.
