Not on purpose ....Here's the story.
Racing has permeated my life ever since.

Sad you were there for that particular race, I LOVE the story of how you came to the sport - And Candy is very appealing.

1st F1 race I saw as a speccie was the non-championship 1971 Oulton Park Good Friday Race won by Pedro Rodriguez from Peter Gethin and Sir Jackie Stewart. Went to the British GP at Silverstone a few months later then the Oulton Park Gold Cup late August. Attended all British GPs up to 1986 at Brands [& the 2 European GPs in 83 & 85 lpus most non-championship UK races...even marshalled at the 1975 International Trophy, won by Niki Lauda]......I always preferred Brands to Silverstone....each time at Silverstone, I saw less and less due to being moved further back from the circuit...got to the stage that the speccies next to me had a portable TV, so I saw the cars go past on the track then looked over my fellow speccies's shoulders and watched their TV So, I stopped going after the last Brands one....
1983-85 inc, I had FIA tickets courtesy of my brother & Team Lotus, who he worked for.....so could "access all areas" so to speak, at any time. Was odd being on the pitwall at Brands during practice whilst on one side, Brabham was practisng fuel stops and on the other, cars hurtling past at 180+mph into Paddock Bend...

The gravity of that incident did not affect the fact I was already enamored by about...hmm, let's see, the reconnaissance lap !!
Glad you enjoyed the story
I've many more like it.
About many different things.

So why young people are not interested in f1? lack of racing , charismatic drivers or grid girls ?
I just guess those twitter / Instagram kids are indeed not interested to read or write long articles , thus would not coming to forums and such that not taking part in this survey !

39 from Europe. Watched my first races on tv in 1999 and been following F1 regularly since 2000. I think I've missed one or two races since. Not always watched everything live, but if not on Sunday, then on Monday. Have attended Grands Prix twice, 2003 Nürburgring and 2004 Hockenheim. Amazing experience with the V10's screaming in the Stadium section of the Hockeheimring. Boiling hot it was.
No prior motorsport interest in my family so my father didn't bring me to the races as a toddler or anything. Found out for myself that I liked racing.

I'm 33 and I find it difficult to answer the question about when I started following F1.
My Dad watched F1 regularly so i could happily say I was a few days old when I watched my first F1 race, however i dont really think that is what the question is asking.
I have no memory (from the time that they happened) of the 90,91,92 and 95 seasons. I remember bits and pieces of the 93 and 94 seasons (but not 95) and firmly remember from 96 onwards, but I was still simply watching because Dad watched F1.
Also my perception of my early years is clearly skewed by my emotions and not the actually events that occurred. I cheered on Damon Hill (because he was British) and hated Schumacher, and that led to me overrating Hills driving ability. My Dad said that Schumacher clearly deserved the 94 and 95 titles as he was the better driver. That too is how I now view those seasons by watching highlights/interviews on YouTube.
During my teenage years my interest in F1 waned. Partily because naturally teenagers are naturally less interested in the parents interests and more concerned with their friends interests (football and music), and partly because Schumacher was winning too often. While I watched GPs in this period I was only a casual viewer. It wasnt until 2007 that I can say that I took an active interest in Formula 1. This is probably because I went to Uni that year and had to go out of my way to watch the races and also I had a proper internet connection so I could read up about F1 rather than just watch the races.

Further to my post above, I was born into a rallying family, my Dad a keen rally driver in the 50s and early 60s [before returning when historic rallying took off in 1982]. so, I inherited my passion for motorsport from him. Earliest motorsport experience I recall is being aged 4 or 5 at Oulton Park [he used to race in handicap races as well as rallies] and standing where the paddock is, looking through a gate at the pit lane exit end [no armco etc] and seeing 1950s single-seaters hurtling past. The image is of Maserati 250Fs, but I'm not certain if that image has been "imprinted" on my mind as to the actual cars I saw that day. My brother has copied an old cine film onto DVD, it shows us at a late 50s OP event. Since then, I'd seen plenty of autotests, PCTs, hillclimbs, kart races, autocross & rallycrosses plus a few club race meetings as well as the 1970 Croft International Meeting before Dad took us to Oulton Park for that 1971 Good Friday Meeting mentioned earlier. I remember watching the 1969 British GP on TV.....and hearing about Jim Clark's death the year before....strangely, I don't recall the 1970 British GP on TV [if I was at home, I'd have watched it if it was on], this was the weekend after the aforementioned Croft International, at which I got hooked on 1 litre F3 It's possible I was at a local Players No 6 Autocross the same day as that GP

It depends on what part of Istanbul.
I live in the Anatolian part, but my university is in the European part and I will probably move closer to university when the pandemic ends. And I also lived in the European part previously.
