Was looking at the different team bases... I was suprised at how locked-in the Mercedes base is. Especially compared to the likes of Aston Martin who have fields around (I think they are actually building a new factory in the field next door)
Haas is smaller than the Travis Perkins next door Imagine moving F1 teams and going from something like McLarens base and then rocking up to work at such a small facility.

Do you think Haas get their spares from Euro Car Parts?

How big a facility is really needed to build three or four cars a year? Tyrrell did it all in a wooden shed (at first anyway!). This all highlights F1's profligacy - spending money for its own sake.

I'm sure Peter Connew would have considered Ken's shed both spacious and luxurious!

Btw the Haas team was spread into three different locations. Some parts were made in the USA, the team itself has a base in the UK as well and also there was an engineering office at the Dallara headquarters in Varano. But their newest job listings are mentioning Maranello as the place of work, so it looks like they are already transitioning to Ferrari.

Here’s a further out shot to show how close Jormidspyforcepoinston Martin are to the Silverstone circuit...
That's only part of it, they have a very nondescript industrial unit in Brackley which houses a wind tunnel and model-shop. It's very small by modern standards, so they had been largely using Toyota's in Cologne for a decade but now use the Merc one. (obviously )

On second thoughts, they do need massive facilities. In order to accommodate all the massive egos.

Lots of PV cells on the Ferrari factory but none at Mercedes. Don't they care about the environment

Must've been one of the things Merc and Hamilton couldn't agree on in the contract negotiations

I love that Mercedes' next door neighbour is "PVC-U-LIKE clothing". Two specialist interests in one.
Interesting comparison of F1 factories and offices. The McLaren complex still looks very swish from above. Probably a pleasant place to work. Other factories and offices might afford views of rolling fields.

Not sure what you mean by 'locked in'. The Red Bull place in the centre of Milton Keynes looks more enclosed regarding surroundings. As does the Alfa Tauri in Italy.

I gotta say Merc's HQ looks really harmonious. It has a well-groomed, selective vibe around it and I love that Nature encircling the building.
Everything about this team, at this time, looks silk, smooth and strong.

Haas is small because they're buying everything they can from another team (Ferrari) so they dont need factory lines to build that themselves, and Aston Martin pretty much the same I suppose

Is this image in the correct scale (I'll post the link because it's huge and I don't know how to make it smaller) - https://i.redd.it/mebrpybu0pt21.png
It seems wrong to me, at least the Isle of Man circuit. It's about 60 km long, while Nurburgring is 25 km long, so just over twice the size. And it seems as a much larger difference on the picture. And I find it hard to believe that about 90 circuits would fit on the Isle of Man

Good point. I firmly believe that a clean desk is a sign that insufficient work is being done. Ron's a genius but doesn't understand that different people work in different ways. My employer tried a clean desk policy....it lasted under a week. I'm still there, the instigator of the policy is not.
I've often thought that Spa looks like a gun. I don't see goolies in Croft though.

If you're interested, the history tab on Google Earth shows a little bit of how the factories have expanded over the years:
Sauber's goes back to 2009 but is virtually indistinguishable bar some extra solar panels in 2020. Haas' building looks exactly the same, though it was previously Wirth Research and Ascari Cars before that.
The most drastic change is the team that upped and moved up the road, of course.

Another way to look at this is fall of Williams from packed employee parking lot to just scattered remains between 14 year gap

There's this is southeast of Tucson, AZ. I was watching past NASCAR Winter Heat race and have to look this up. Used to run at Tucson Speedway. Was surprised the surrounding area of the area is dedicated for motorsports as it got a dirt oval, dirt road course, and paved road circuit. Tucson Speedway is unique because the pits is located at turn 2. The track is still active to this day

Pretty much all of them look like a pretty depressing environment to work in: in the middle of nowhere/industrial clusters.
It seems the only decent factory (location wise) is Ferrari. At least it’s within brief walking distance from the urban centre. Also likely the best food among all teams to catch up during the lunch in the vicinity.
Design wise, Mclaren still looks the most modern/inspiring. And it’s already over 20(?) years old. That building is a pretty bold statement in itself.
Kind of surprised at the modesty of Jordan/india/point/Aston. But that team has almost always delivered very well.
(Actually Renault seems to be quite small as well).

I’d much rather work in a rural location than in a city. Now that would be a depressing location to work. Though the Italian teams will undoubtably have the best food.

So, I can't find much about it.
It is in the grounds of a agricultural/garden machinery company called Dairon. They moved to that facility in 1997, but their 'presentation' on their website suggests the lake came about in 2008, which would tally as the layout it depicts is the '97-'09 version. They must have been annoyed when Silverstone had it's big infield change in 2010!
My best guess is someone very senior at the company is English and a racing nut.
