Just got back from Brands. I was in two minds whether to go - glad I did !
I rate it as the best 'Blancpain'-type race I've seen att his circuit. There seem to be more younger drivers now - the racing was hard and fast ( OK, maybe a little too hard at times) but both races were very entertaining. Unusually for GT3 at Brands, some superb overtaking moves. Plus -all the usual Brands benfits including clear broadcast commentary and a terrific view.
Great stuff !

Kubica/Deletraz/Ye take the win and the title
Posted 19 September 2021 - 13:13
Pretty good race, actually
Many Polish flags in the grandstands. The organizers decided to make this a free access race (as in no fee charged for tickets). Kubica just gave his interview in Polish. Didn't understand a word of it, but he looked pleased with the result

Meanwhile we watch a damp mall car park in Turkey, the last GT World Challenge Europe race of the season is getting underway at Montmelo, Catalunya.
The good part is that it's an Endurance race so we have plenty of time to enjoy if after the Grand Prix.
GT Blessings.

Marcus Winkelhock wasn't on the podium because he had to fly back to Germany ASAP as his wife is about to give birth.

The other thing that strikes me is that there's been one helluva generation of Swiss drivers since Sébastien Buemi (Marcel Fässler, Rahel Frey, Simona de Silvestro, Patric Niederhauser, Eduardo Mortara, Nico Müller, etc.). The next one will be Lucas Légeret. Not bad for a country that doesn't allow circuit racing.

I shudder to that what would have happened if a single-seater had hit the tires before the pits the way that LMP3 did (the incident after Memo Rojas's LMP2 lost a wheel)...

Because of the crest he probably couldn't see the pit wall, and he didn't realise he was heading towards it until it was too late, right? Scary.I shudder to that what would have happened if a single-seater had hit the tires before the pits the way that LMP3 did (the incident after Memo Rojas's LMP2 lost a wheel)...

Shocking crash for Ya Qi Zhang in the Macau GT Cup today
Thankfully he survived the hit but apparently suffered a collapsed right lung (as well as contusion to same lung), multiple rib fractures and abrasions.
Must be one of the hardest hits I have seen in a GT car
