For British TV viewers who enjoy V12 Lagondas and shaky back-projection, "Checkpoint" is on Talking Pictures (Freeview Channel 81) tomorrow, starting at 18:35.

It’s also on You Tube apparently in its entirety!

I would rather have seen them genuinely compete in the 1956 Mille Miglia rather than be mere film props.

I watch Checkpoint every once in a while on youtube, such a shame David Brown did not have the resources to give those V12's the backing they so obviously deserved, imagine how the world might look if the Lagonda's had gone on a 3 year winning streak at Le Mans instead of the D-types ;-)

John Wyer had a cameo role in that film - he even 'got the girl'! If you click on the link (I've set the video to start at the beginning of the scene) and watch closely, you'll see he's the fellow in the blue cap who pulls the girl away from the car...

I've been watching it on Youtube.  Good fun.  Lots of nice shots from the 1956 Mille Miglia.  I spotted a helmetless Hans Herrmann in his Porsche 550A in a pre-race scene.  Here is a link to some of the cars in the film:
