Ah, yes; now I remember why Michael was my favorite Indycar driver while growing up.

Trouble with Michael!!!

Oldsmobile is definitely not a good brand name.

Classic Michael!

I'm getting strong Houston 1999 vibes from Andretti's crashed Lola there

Scott Pruett hesitant through traffic there. But can you blame him.

THIS is what the sport needs.
Attrition.
Posted 07 March 2021 - 20:11
It's a shame it took Michael forever to figure out how to race intelligently. By the time he finally had it figured out, he no longer had the equipment or the natural speed to put it to use.

Johnny Ruterford is right:
This is a Chevy vs Judd battle. A rarity.

When is the wrong time for a comedy Australian accent? According to David Hobbs: never.

International flavour!

THERE's a backmarker livery (Guido Dacco).
Posted 07 March 2021 - 20:13
Zoom. Pruett didn't stand a chance!
Posted 07 March 2021 - 20:13
This is a better race than I remembered
Posted 07 March 2021 - 20:14
Alfa's still running!

I wonder how many Indycar races have been won by someone who crashed into Mario Andretti twice. A unique achievement!

All the flags are on those rescue boats on the harbor.

It's an interesting race to watch, but it's not really a good advertisement for Indycar. If you're a Chevy, didn't break down, and didn't crash hard enough, congrats, you're the winner by default.

Nooo Pruett

It's the kind of motor race you stopped getting at some point in the early 1990s.

And I bet Roger Penske will NEVER repeat the mistake of selling his cars to a competitive team...

I honestly never though Emmo would win that. Wow.
But then, this is Indycar.

Probably a good thing on balance. It's bad that cars are now so close that a lot of ovals are not really raceable for Indycars, and there is no reliability lottery to keep you in suspense when someone is running away with it, but on the other hand it just looks silly when some cars are almost a lap behind just on qualifying times.

Yes, the temp is hovering just over 32F so I will be heading out myself to enjoy a bit of sun.
Thanks everyone! Classic Pruett fade at the end, but a great race!

Pruett didn't have a family... yet

Good fun. Off to rake leaves.
If by leaves, you mean GREEN Sonoma, then yes. That's where I'm headed.
Also Nascar Cup at Vegas.
That was fantastic gentlemen; Thank you Risil ^^
Here's a random '89 picture of Detroit without the Pistons on it.
Belle Isle blessings y'all.

Semi-OT.
I don't know if it's the commercials or the fact this was a *much* better race than I remembered, but I feel pumped as if the race had just happened this afternoon.
Thanks guys (and especially Risil)!
