Yesterday club racing extraordinaire Ian Flux announced on Facebook that he's going to work on a book about his career. It'll be written with Matt James, Motorsport News editor and author of the BTCC history book.

Should be fun reading!

I hope Matt engages the profanity filter . I wasn't too impressed with Ian Flux's  F  words in the Tom Pryce book . Time and a place , and that was neither . ,

Fluxie is a genuine legend and a wonderful guy with many great stories to tell. However, I am with you and your approach to the printed word; the EVRO style guide, drawn up by the maestro, gives this guidance.

• Avoid, clichés, slang and profanities.

I am grateful that I am not the sub-editor, just a book buyer.

Should be a good read, I will look out for this. Always thought he was a bit better than the typical club racer, he was quick in the Lister GT1.

Who is the maestro behind the guide?

Mark Hughes, not the F1-guru that scribbles in Motor Sport, but a partner in EVRO and easily the top motoring sub-editor around, IMHO. They have taken the The Oxford Style and Hart's Rules as their template and adapted it for motoring.

I am guessing they are not going to publish a Joe Scalzo book anytime soon?  :stoned:

Thank you. He used to work at Haynes.

Indeed, the same one, a thoroughly good bloke.

He will have his hands full later in the year trying to edit and make sense of my less than purple prose. :stoned:
