Best driver ham/ver both great
Worst moment: confusing track limits
Best team: merc
Best moment: max hunting and rightfully overtaking ham
Most confusing moment: why is it ok to have 30x0.1 sec advantage but not ok once you overtake?
Overall: we might finally have a real season of f1 on our hands!

Best driver: Hamilton.
Worst driver: The easy answer is Mazepin, but it's the wrong answer. The right answer is... Vettel (What the...? :( )
Best team: Mercedes. Never give up!
Worst team: I'm sorry to say Aston Martin. Nobody is expecting anything out of Haas and Williams. Plus the moaning from Otmar Szafnauer.
Best overtake: Tsunoda is going to be one helluva fighter. Worthy successor to Kobayashi and SAAAATTTTTOOOOO!!!111OneOneOne
Worst overtake: Vettel on Ocon. I just can't.
Best moment: The straight-on fight between Hamilton and Verstappen. We're talking about an Alonso-MSC at Imola 2005 level of a fight here.
Worst moment: I can't really think of any.

And the race in a sentence: The best first Grand-Prix of the season in a very, very long time.

Missed these threads last year!

Best driver: Either Hamilton, Perez or Norris. Verstappens mistake pretty much cost him the win, but Hamilton really made his life hard.

Worst driver: Mazepin 😂😂- each laughing face represents a corner he made successfully- I’ll enjoy watching him fail this year.

Best team: Mercedes I suppose- although Bottas 4.0 looks as weak as last year.

Worst team: Haas/HAAS/HASS/hasbeens.

Best overtake: Norris on Ricciardo.

Worst overtake: Verstappen on Hamilton...

Best moment: Watching Norris get fighty.

Worst moment: Alonso pitting. That bloke is beginning to look like the guy who keeps going back to college after his A-levels...

And the race in a sentence: A great start to the season, maybe they should make every year the last before a new ruleset.

Best team: Mercedes
Worst team: Haas
Best overtake: Vettel vs Alonso
Worst overtake: Vettel vs Ocon
Best moment: Hamilton winning in an inferior car
Worst moment: Vettel punting Ocon and immediately putting the blame on the Frenchman who did nothing wrong

And the race in a sentence: A promising start to the new season.

Best driver: Lewis

Worst driver:Gasly.Maze and Mick are driving a surgical shitbox. Gasly was taking too many risks. Edited to say I don't know how to do strike through on my phone, but Vettel was the worst driver by far all weekend.

Best team: RedBull-they had a tough call to make and got it wrong. Merc pit crew still has Benny Hill vibes.

Worst team:Haas

Best overtake:Perez about 10 times at T4.

Worst overtake:Seb, and it's just sad now.

Best moment:PDRs face afterwards.

Worst moment:Seb, blaming Ocon for driving a car.

And the race in a sentence: Best opening race since 2010 at the least.

Best driver: Hamilton. He's wasted in a dominant car, he doesn't need it.
Worst driver: Mazepin did an awful job all weekend but he's a rookie. Vettel was the most embarrassing to watch.
Best team: Mercedes hands down, again  :|
Worst team: Same as before, Haas was terrible but the biggest disappointment was Aston Martin. "Honorable" mention to Alpha Tauri.
Best overtake: Norris vs Leclerc at the beginning.
Worst overtake: -
Best moment: Hamilton vs Verstappen toe to toe. We've waited a long time for this.
Worst moment: RBR and Merc still finishing 30 seconds+ ahead of everyone else.

And the race in a sentence: We should give Bahrain more credit as a season opener, that was really good.

Best driver: Hamilton -- did what he needed to in the early stages of the race, and then hung on under immense pressure.

Worst driver: Probably Vettel: no surprise here. Mazepin gets a pass because it's his first day and the cooler-headed Mick lost the Haas in a very similar fashion, although he continued on.

Best team: Red Bull provided a great car but it wasn't quite enough.

Worst team: Haas -- why are they here?

Best overtake: I liked that mess involving Alonso and Vettel. Remarkable lack of contact after the first few laps.

Worst overtake: Max Verstappen's on Lewis at the end, natch.

Best moment: The middle stage of the race while the strategies were still playing out and I had no idea whether Lewis or Max were doing enough.

Worst moment: Amateur hour during the opening laps.

The race in a sentence: You've got a lot to learn before you beat me: try again kiddo!

Best driver: Hamilton. Most surprising: Norris (relative to Ric). Perez did well to recover to fifth.
Worst driver: Mazepin. Gasly and Vettel would probably like to forget this ASAP.

Best team: Mercedes. Most surprising: Ferrari (shouldn't be I guess, but for some reason I expected them to be well off Mclaren's pace)
Worst team: Haas. Most disappointing: Alpine :/
Best overtake: There were a couple of nice battles that ultimately ended with a DRS drive-by.
Best moment: The battle at the end.
Worst moment:

I still hate DRS. Too powerful on this track. Thankfully it didn't decide at the end, but in general it felt that slower cars had no chance to hold their position.

Also the mess regarding track limits. Ultimately it was probably the right thing to do to instruct Max to drop back, but it's silly that rules aren't agreed upon before the race (or not enforced until a random point in the race, not sure which is worse)

Overall let's say a solid 8/10. I enjoyed this race a lot, wanted Max to win, because I have a feeling that Merc will get it right eventually and Hamilton might run away with it again if Max and Red Bull don't maximize their results when they can.

Best driver: Lewis Hamilton
Worst driver: Nikita Mazepin, honourable mention to Vettel
Best team: Not Merc (Bottas' pitstop), not RB (Perez' problems). Let's say McLaren....
Worst team: HAAS
Best overtake: a bunch of turn 4 overtakes
Worst overtake: Vettel on Ocon
Best moment: epic duel Hamilton/Verstappen, also Alonso/Vettel/Raikkonen fighting it out
Worst moment: Verstappen having to give the position back

And the race in a sentence: Great, best opening race since 2009

9/10

Best driver: Lewis Hamilton (another masterful drive to show why he is the GOAT imo, doubt anyone else could have held on to win today)
Worst driver: Mazepin (all he did was spin like a **** all weekend)
Best team: McLaren (4th and 7th is a promising start for them, Lando in particular was on good form this weekend)
Worst team: HAAS (DNF and stone cold last, both drivers only worth noting for spins, kinda sums them up really)
Best overtake: Tsunoda on Alonso (Yuki was really impressive today imo)
Worst overtake: Verstappen on Hamilton, showed he's still not the complete driver by going miles off the track then not knowing a good place to give back the place and then running wide a few times that saw his chance of winning slip away.
Best moment: all of the Hamitlon v Verstappen stuff really, loved it, great race to watch
Worst moment: Twatzespin being allowed to start a grand prix

And the race in a sentence: outstanding, great battle at the front, both tactically and on track, some great midfield battles.

Honorable Mentions: Alpine have shocking race pace, Ocon started well but was nowhere after that, even finished behind the Alfa's ffs, Alonso too started brightly but clearly the car didn't have the pace even in his hands, he was falling back even before retiring. Vettel's return to form doesn't look like coming anytime soon and Stroll was, well, Stroll, could be a long season for Aston Martin, they've clearly paid for a lot of PR and hype this season but they are going to struggle to deliver much if any of it.

Best driver: Hamilton - Red Bull had the faster car, but Merc strategy and good driving by Hamilton somehow gave them that win. Good stuff.

Worst driver: Mazepin - Beats Vettel to this award on merit that Vettel only had an appalling race, Mazepin was bad every session.

Best team: Mercedes - Good strategy call gave them the upper hand in that race, and probably came closest to mazimising their result.

Worst team: Haas - Oof it’s going to be a long year.

Best overtake: Too many happened off camera annoyingly. A thought put the leaders in the little box under their name, and focus on the action instead.

Worst overtake: Ocon on Vettel I suppose but only because Vettel had a brain fart.

Best moment: Tense ending to the race, leaders fighting to the very end, good stuff.

Worst moment: A stuttering start, breakdown, crash, spin. Took a couple laps to get the season properly underway.

And the race in a sentence: Need to enjoy these races when they come around, ones which aren’t shaken up by a safety car or rain, but succeed in creating race long action. 9/10

Best driver: Max, Lewis and LA do were nice to.
Worst driver: Mazepin (training, qualy and race sums up)
Best team: Mercedes. The gods of sandbagging. Stil the fastest car. Great Strategy and the reason Lewis won today.
Worst team: Haas
Best overtake: Vettel on Alonso
Worst overtake: Vettel on Ocon
Best moment: Ocon spinning
Worst moment: FIA messing up again.

And the race in a sentence: Great until the FIA played God again and decided who had to win.

Best driver: Hamilton, honorable mention to Perez
Worst driver: Mazepin (so far does not appear to be a legitimate F1 talent)

Best team: Red Bull (brought the fastest car, qualified on pole, put their #1 in position for what should have been an clinical win)
Worst team: Haas

Best overtake: Yuki had a number of tasty overtakes, I looks to be the class of the rookie field.
Worst overtake: Max on Lewis

Best moment: the duel for the win between Max and Lewis
Worst moment: Perez stalling on the formation lap

And the race in a sentence: Great race, and hopefully a sign of what's to come this season, w/ most of the cars looking tricky to drive this year.

10. Quite simply this is what top level sport should be about. Up there with great 1 vs 1 races such as Suzuka 2000 and Imola 2005.

Best driver: Norris or Kimi
Worst driver: Vettel (its all relative, the fact that Schumacher did the exact same thing as Mazepin keeps him above Vettel's absolute stinker)
Best team: Mercedes
Worst team: Aston
Best overtake: Max on Lewis (yes, that one), or Tsunoda on Alonso
Worst overtake: Sainz on Stroll, like its Lance bloody Stroll ffs, he doesn't have mirrors and was always gonna close the door
Best moment: Fight for the win, most entertaining battle at the front for a while
Worst moment: Personally, when Checo pulled over, or maybe Hamilton's team radio (yes i'm salty still)

And the race in a sentence: Very good race, very good drivers, very good teams, very **** stewards.

Best driver:  Sir Lewis - Is there any doubt that it isn't the car?

Worst driver:  Mazespin
Best team:  Mercedes - Their quality shines through once again.
Worst team:  Haas - For them, 2022 can't come soon enough.
Best overtake:  The Perez suite of overtakes.  Masterful drive.
Worst overtake:  Verstappen on HAM.
Best moment:  Hamilton to Bono, "Let me handle this."
Worst moment:  VET on OCO or Mazespin ruining FP3 (This deserves special mention.)

And the race in a sentence:  Game on.

Best driver: Hamilton
Worst driver: Mazepin
Best team: Mercedes
Worst team: Haas
Best overtake: dunno
Worst overtake: Vettel overtaking Ocon after assbombing him.
Best moment: The battle for the lead at the end.
Worst moment: Do we have track limits or not? Why is it ok, as Lewis said, to drive off track all the time at a spot, but then when Verstappend did it to overtake, its disallowed part of track. If Lewis had been doing that for more than half the race, then why its suddenly disallowed. Either enforce the rules or don't. Nobody asked Lewis to give back the time he gained at that corner for howevermany laps. That's just BS. We don't need sensors. Put some gravel there, and we're good.

And the race in a sentence: An good omen for the season: the very top looks close and the "midfield" looks close. I am even hoping for a great battle for the third place in the championship for Bottas and Perez.

Worst team: Haas
Best overtake: Many good ones.
Worst overtake: Vettel on Ocon

Best Driver: Hamilton, showed why it's him, not just the car. Honourable mention to Perez and Norris

Worst Driver: Vettel, slow, ran into the back of Ocon and then tried to blame Ocon. Mazepin gets forgiven as a rookie and Mick S did exactly the same thing but got away with it - shows it's just a **** car

Best Team: Should have been Mercedes but the Bottas pit stop was amateurish. Instead I say McLaren for maximising everything.

Worst Team: Haas

Best Overtake: All the ones Norris did early on, most without DRS and round the outside. Just mighty

Worst Overtake: Obviously Vettel doing dodgems on Ocon

Best Moment: The last 5 laps, not just the fight at the front but the bits missed by the TV, such as Perez late charge to get Leclerc and Tsunoda's late tussle with Stroll

Worst Moment: Perez on formation lap

Race in a sentence: Don't change the regulations next year!!!

Worst driver: Vettel (yes, even worse than Mazepin)
Best team: Mercedes (they did the best with what they had)
Worst team: Red Bull (they threw away more potential than Haas did, I reckon)
Best overtake: Tsunoda
Worst overtake: Vettel on Ocon
Best moment: Proof of a true championship fight involving two very strong teams that probably won't be decided before the last race.

Lots of stuff here about Red Bull being the fastest car and Lewis winning in a inferior car...

Looking at the real pace of RB versus MB, you should look at Bottas versus Perez during this season. RB and MB are very close at this moment, but I wouldn't call the RB the better car yet, just because Max nailed it in quali.

You shouldn’t compare a driver in his first race for the team to a seasoned operator.

Hamilton vs Verstappen is the more reasonable comparison

Best driver: Hamilton 1, Verstappen 2, Bottas 3 (drove a great race tbh)

Worst driver: Mazepin
Best team: Both RB and Merc made crucial mistakes. Don't know really.
Worst team: Haas, gonna be a long year for them. Bad car, bad drivers.
Best overtake: No idea to be honest. Too much focussing on the front 2.
Worst overtake: Vettel. Oh my god..

Best moment: Fight between the titans
Worst moment: Max not winning it

Best driver: Perez. Nice effort from the pit lane.
Worst driver: MazeSbin. At this pace the damage he does to the cars will be more expensive than having a decent guy bringing car to chequered flag. Lost his respect and spun around.
Best team: McLaren. Solid weekend all in all. Mercedes was close but failed pit stop with Valtteri dropped the ball.
Worst team: Aston Martin. All the hype and one point. Not very convincing.
Best overtake: Räikkönen v Russell or Norris v Leclerc
Worst overtake: Vettel v Ocon.
Best moment: Final laps battle.
Worst moment: Stewards overall

And the race in a sentence: A nice way to start the season.

And the race in a sentence: Best opening race since 2010 at the least.

Definitely further back than 2010! That year was the year they used the awful "endurance" layout of Sakhir with that ridiculous middle sector. I think we might be looking as far back as 2003 for an opener that runs this one close.

Best driver: Norris - drove the perfect race. Quite far ahead of the rest
Worst driver: Mazepin - Don't drop it on corner one of your first race
Best team: Mclaren - At the start of the weekend the best "the rest" could have hoped for was 5 & 6. Mclaren end up 4 & 7 so pretty much spot on
Worst team: Red Bull for dropping the ball and letting Lewis win
Best overtake: I can't remember a particular one that wasn't a DRS drive by
Worst overtake: Vettel on Ocon
Best moment: Pretty much anyone from Mclaren, Ferrari, Aston, Alpine, Alpha T & Alfa R looking likely to be able to finish in the top 10 at any point during the race.
Worst moment: Hamilton winning again + top three over 30 seconds ahead of the rest again
And the race in a sentence: Track position is king

Best driver: Hamilton. Notable drivers Lando and Leclerc.
Worst driver: Mazepin (yes a rookie and Vettel was quite bad too. But in absolute term, Nikita was worse)
Best team: McLaren. Mercedes loses out for the Bottas stop
Worst team: Haas. KMag was co-commentator on Danish tv and he didn't give the impression he was missing them.....
Best overtake: Leclerc on Bottas first lap.
Worst overtake: Sainz on Stroll.
Best moment:Lewis hanging on for the win
Worst moment: Checo checking up on the warm-up lap. I was looking forward to a 4 horse race between RBR and Merc. This instantly stymied RB

And the race in a sentence: Very enjoyable and exciting throughout.

Best driver: Hamilton and Norris
Worst driver: Mazepin with Vettel very, very close behind
Best team: Mercedes execution was superb all weekend despite the slow stop
Worst team: Tough call, Aston I'd say
Best overtake: Tsunoda on Stroll
Worst overtake: Vettel/Ocon
Best moment: Sainz vs Alonso vs Vettel
Worst moment: Gasly throwing away big points early on

And the race in a sentence: A proper Grand Prix. 8/10

Bonus that I scored some seriously good points in the F1 Fantasy game 😁

Best driver: Hamilton
Worst driver: if Mazepin can be considered a driver then him, otherwise Vettel
Best team: Mercedes for their winning strategy
Worst team: Toss-up between Aston and Haas
Best overtake: there were quite a few nice ones, including Verstappen/Hamilton

Worst overtake: Vettel/Ocon, if this was an overtake
Best moment: Hamilton/Verstappen battle
Worst moment: Track limits farce

And the race in a sentence: Turn 4

Race: 8, could have easily been a 9 without the irritation over the ridiculous stewarding

This won't be a popular opinion here of course, but I agree with your summation.

Best driver: Hamilton

Worst driver: Mazepin

Best team: McLaren

Worst team: Haas

Best overtake: Tsunoda's divebomb on Alonso

Worst overtake: Verstoppen - I have no idea why he did not wait until the end of the straight on the next lap - he did it too himself.

Best moment: Final laps, Max hunting down Lewis

Worst moment: Verstoppen pulling aside - should have gone after a 5 second penalty.

In an alternate universe:

Worst overtake: Verstoppen - I have no idea why he did not use the one overtake opportunity he had into T4 - he did it too himself.
