Rake rake rake... it’s all we seem to hear about these days once the tech boffins try to explain why one car has advantage over the other...
So my somewhat limited tech knowledge tells me that rake is the effect whereby you put some ‘wacky races’ style slant on the car with the front end pitched toward the ground (theirs usually achieved by bigger rear wheels... not so in F1)...
Over at Aston Martin, they say that the low rake cars are disproportionately affected by the new aero regs this year... so, how easy is it for a team to fart about with the car and jack up the rear end, fiddle with the diffuser and get more air flowing under their motor? Something that requires a brand new car, or something they could perhaps sort in a few races time?
Or are they stuck with their respective philosophy until 2022?
