The commentary on the Red Bull channel is way better than on Motorsport TV.

Also it looks like they had a half decent crowd at Fuji, by post 2020 standards.

Great race, I am very happy that Red Bull showed it. I hope that they cover the whole season and Super GT too. :) :smoking:

The Suzuka race was a bit processional, enlivened by what looks like a Yokohama tyre problem, which denied pole sitter and early leader Fukuzumi when he had a sudden blowout and then a similar blowout saw Kunimoto pitched into the tyre wall upside down.  Guiliano Alesi promoted from the Lights to sit in for Nakajima (absent on WEC duties) and did respectably.  Calderon continues to look out of her depth.  Sacha Fenestraz is stuck in Dubai due to Covid and visa issues.

Most Super Formula races are a bit processional, since the cars aren't well designed for overtaking.  Interesting how much Yamamoto is getting shown up by his teammate this year.  Starts to make one wonder how much of his performances were the team vs him...

Ah, thanks for explaining his absence. I fast-forwarded the race and didn't catch it.

Is there a reason she gets so much coverage on Motorsport.com? Seems like every weekend there's a "Calderon surprised to be at back" headline. I'll cut her some slack because it's a one car team and she's not ready for this level, but...

Round 3: Autopolis

Possibly the worst conditions for racing in some time:

OK, officially, what the hell?  Alesi on pole and easily leading and winning after the red flag?  Is he some sort of wet racing specialist?

It's in the name.

He also came back from 9th to 2nd in Super Formula Lights (after changing his engine). Weather for SF Lights was much worse, they only ran a couple of laps and one round got cancelled.
