Can anyone suggest the identity of a racing car dealer advertising in the Autosport classifieds on a regular basis in 1966 and 1967 from a phone number of RIChmond 8146, or 01-940 8146 using the new codes?

 

I've checked key Willment personnel, such as Jeff Uren, Mike Crabtree and Ken Simmons and none of the phone numbers seem to match theirs? This person sold single-seaters and sports cars, things like Brabhams, Lotuses, Coopers, also engines, gearboxes etc., but never with a contact name or address listed, it appears. All help gratefully received!

I have banged my head against this particular wall in the past as well Michael.

 

it might be worth exploring connections to JA Pearce, the Pearce-Martin guy not the Kincraft guy.  The Richmond number advertised a "Cooper 1963 V8 HD4" in March/April 1967 and shortly afterwards Ray Langdon turned up with just such a car in Jersey.  I asked Langdon where it came from, and he told me Pearce Engineering.

Al, no, unfortunately not! I have both of their phone numbers from that period and neither is a match!
