Mercedes 1-2 after T1 which will then inspire RBR to go all-in strategy-wise (one-stopper, betting on a SC), but it won't make a difference. HAM-BOT-VER. I expect Leclerc to show Sainz who's boss by doing some more of that delightful defending of his to reach P4. Comeback of Ricciardo: P5.

Disclaimer: This stuff is based on absolutely nothing. Just hoping for an unusually exciting Spain GP!

Another boring race predicted sadly. When will F1 learn to go to tracks which always provide good racing....never

We need Max in front after lap 1, otherwise you can switch off and enjoy the free time.

Watching the 2007 Spanish GP with 100.000 or so fans at the track cheering, amazing. At least we'll have some fans back today, we just need the 2007 back as well

Heart says a shock SAI win, mind says HAM will extend the gap to VER even futher

It’s a closed door event. No fans today.

That's not true I think. There are already fans at the track filling the grandstand

Hmm, Max has good with strategy with the new set of softs and Merc has two cars vs one again. As long as Max isn’t behind both Mercs after lap one I think he might have a chance here by going for an agressive two-stopper.

Easy victory for HAM, > 15 seconds gap to P2.

BOT P2 due to the speed advantage Mercedes will have on the harder compounds, VER P3

Not sure about Sainz P4 but it would be very nice so my best of the rest vote goes to Carlos.

Oh! My mistake. I read an article saying it was closed doors.

With only 1000 people, it might as well be !

The only way I can see this race being any decent is if Leclerc and Sainz have a great start and they also have Friday's deg issues.

I think we might get some contact at T1...

Inevitably gonna send this place into chaos  :p

If Verstappen leads and Hamilton is 2nd, I think we could get a 2017-esque race which I loved. (Hamilton vs. Vettel that year)

Very precise, a hundred fans to three decimal places!

Red Bull have a minor, minor strategic advantage but I don't think it will pay dividends in the race.

I expect Hamilton to drive the same race he did last year, backing Verstappen up for 10-15 laps so that he can't pull the undercut, and controlling thereafter.

I do wonder if Mercedes will go S-H-M as to trick Red Bull into thinking they are one-stopping.

And IF Verstappen is in the lead, he should do the same and back up Hamilton.

But, I feel this is where there is a small difference between the two. I don't think Verstappen would do this and that's a small weakness there for me

In fairness in most of Europe the dot is the signifier for thousand not a comma

Turn 1 is going to be crucial today, can't help but feel if Hamilton leads into T1 he'll win the race, Merc have the advantage of Bottas being around for strategy too

A lot of weather sites suddenly showing 60-70% chance of rain ... worth keeping an eye on.

Watching the radar there's definitely a band of rain incoming, just hard to tell exactly when it will hit and whether it'll just be a bit of drizzle or proper rain.

That's classic Barcellona!

Dull GP, than some dark clouds gathering towards the final 10 laps, but rain eventually comes 1 minute after the chequered flag.

Mick Schumacher is a very sound guy. He'll get far. I'm not sure he can become a world champion. But I reckon he could win a few races

Getting quite dark here, 10 km from the circuit. Wouldn’t surprise me if some rain falls before the start...

Lewis seems more old school in that regard, prefers just getting on the track itself doing the laps and finding the speed

I will have my eyes fixed on Red Bull’s rear wing this afternoon. According to Hamilton, it was flexing during qualifying.

I think about the only person not wanting it to rain today will be Ricciardo...

Toto says Bottas is working on his tyre management. A minor unprompted observation when asked about the rumours they could switch him out.

I think for the best race we need some drizzle after the start, dry/inters. That will show us who has the best skills.

If proper rain we get a Saftey car, which whist more interesting than a normal Spanish gp, I do not fancy that much.

Flexing, or pressed down at high speed as part of the entire high rake/rear suspension concept, allowing more angle at low speed than at high speed?

I’ve always heard he wasn’t a fan of testing. Not too surprised then that he hates the simulator as well!

It is interesting how relatively ‘unprepared’ he sounds, compared to those drivers who obsessively check every inch of the track.

There was some light drizzle during recon laps

I prefer an opera singer belting the national anthem
