Awwww... but what are we going to talk about in the race thread?
Is David Croft not enough?

Brilliant lap by Hamilton. Today he truly proved he's up there with Senna and Schumacher.

Hamilton feels he was ahead, but the replay clearly shows he wasn't.

50/50 considering max rejoined unsafely at T1

Shades of Hill 1995, Lewis deserves a penalty but the calls for a DSQ from the race thread are ridiculous
Yeah. Highly optimistic because he was always going to lose speed going into the corner so tight. I'd apportion most of the blame to Hamilton, but I don't sympathise much with Verstappen - the dirtiest defensive driver out there.

It’s a clear penalty in this case.

deserves a big penalty

Fairly normal incident. Hamilton's fault obviously (although they could have collided multiple times throughout this lap already), and a penalty would be fine (usually gets you 5 seconds at most), anything more is hysteria because of the implication of the championship.

For years now I was expecting such a incident at Copse, in any series. And here we are. At the sharp end of F1.
Rosberg said it best - that Hamilton is incredible at these grey areas. Can't really say one or the other and he's just there, what can you do about it ?
I apologies to Max and his supporters but I do sincerely think that this is a racing incident. Max will learn from this and be better.

Other situation. Lewis had 1,5 m from the apex and went wide against the right rear.

Max is fault all day long. He turned in on Lewis.

Agreed.

You can't overtake there. He couldn't hold it and slid into Vesrtappen. Desperation tactics.

Typical racing incident. Collisions are the core of motorsport, so nothing unusual here. Happens in every category in most races, though usually in a slower sections.
Only malicious/intentional crashes should be penalized like that of Schumi. I'm sure Hamilton didn't want it to end in a collision.

Yeah, but he won’t get one, plus he got a red flag to fix whatever damage he has too.
“I was ahead” no you weren’t, Lewis.

Hamilton as ever so lucky coming unscathed from an incident. These happened a couple of times during the seasons of competition vs Vettel and Vettel always took the worst part, which, in part, led to his labeling as mistake prone. In any case, it's pretty convenient for Ham for the WDC.

Bit of an overreaction already.
There have been a few of these clumsy incidents in the last few years.

huh???? what else should he do in a corner??
lewis was just dumb going on the inside there at the dirty space

Well, Lewis has his Senna moment now. Inside Copse is NOT an overtaking spot.
He was determined to do it there.
Tried and failed in sprint too.

If it was the other way round, you would state the same.

Racing incident for me, but if someone is to be blamed, it's gotta be Lewis.
Worth a penalty? I don't think so.

Yes Hamilton was to aggressive but I feel Max could have given a bit more space.
It was always going to end in tears of no one backed out.

Ham never hit apex, he had space, he understeered into Max. Ham's fault, stop-and-go x seconds under green.

And the severity of the crash. Extremely dangerous.

If there's a penalty for that, F1 is bankrupt.. They don't want these drivers to race anymore.

He had space but went too fast for it. Copse isn't on for such an action. For me a racing incident.

Max turned in as if no one was there.
You have to respect these high-speed tracks in wheel-to-wheel racing.
Glad he seems to be ok-ish after that massive shunt.
